Grargar: Not my intention, I assure you. Still, you did at least get a glimpse of what people like me have to be aware of when they make retail purchases.
Don't worry, it's just that I can't bear to have shits like install limits for games I purchased. This is an abomination !

A month down the road I'm still somewhat baffled by 2K's move to release Bioshock DRM-free in this fashion. I mean, imagine they had released it here at $20 instead. People would have bought it like crazy. "What, Bioshock DRM-free?! Take my money!" Even if they had released it at a 50% discount, that would have made them money.

Instead, "No, let's just give it away in a Bundle." And even if they ever release it here, chances of it becoming a bestseller at full price should be close to zero, since by now everybody has that DRM-free version. It just strikes me as a headdeskingly stupid decision. At least it's a headdeskingly stupid decision that benefits the players, for a change.

Taking a look at Bioshock's history of discounts at IsThereAnyDeal , I severely doubt that Take Two/2K would release the game here without a discount.

I doubt that as well, but I still don't understand why the publishers chose to make the DRM-free debut of BioShock (and other games like Metal Slug 3) in a PWYW bundle. And even now, or maybe especially because of this, I don't expect we'll see them coming on board GOG anytime soon. =\

LOL at Metal Slug 3. The DRM-Free Windows build is still "coming soon". XD

Grargar: LOL at Metal Slug 3. The DRM-Free Windows build is still "coming soon". XD
Yup XD I also have a Mac, but the performance of the DRM-free build is so choppy, it's better to just run a rom through a Neo Geo emulator. And at least I can save states that way. I have the PC collection on disk, but it has such a nasty form of DRM protection on it that I couldn't install it due to getting a virus alert on the installer. I thought I had ended up with a bootleg copy or something.
