Hllo ppl

So I want to make a lets play on Larry 6, but it dosnt seem that I can record anything with dxtory or fraps.
I can see when I run the game, that it uses ScummVM to launch.. but I can't find any settings or scummVM files.. cause I read that you should change something in ScummVM to make it work with the recordings..

Please someone hlp me. :)

Windowed mode and recording the desktop?
Been a long time since I used Fraps.

Or perhaps from the ScummVM FAQ:
The DirectX driver is still available, and can be selected by setting the environment variable SDL_VIDEODRIVER to "directx".
Could be it doesn't use DirectX and I think Fraps and DXTory hook into that driver to capture the footage.. or something like that.
Try Hypercam - http://www.hyperionics.com/hc/

Full desktop

I have read about SDL_Videodriver - But I cant find anywhere how to do this.. :-(
Can't find any guides
So far, my better results are achieved with Open Broadcaster Software (free)

I think it might be the variables under Control Panel -> System -> Advanced System Settings -> Environment Variables.
Way too lazy to test it, but I really think that might be it since those are also used for Java for example.
the SDL part seems very complicated..

I think I will check out Hypercam..

OBS is only for streaming, right?

In case you're curious, it does work with that SDL variable and Fraps, but only in windowed mode.

Nope, It can also save footage to a harddrive.

Actually you can do streaming and/or local capturing, you just have to specify the output.

Mind you I recommend recording a one minute sample, as the audio using the audio compression may turn out completely broken. I've gotten good results using x264 with mp3. Then I increase the amount of time the encoders have before they start giving issues, or you can just do a huge bitrate and then recode it to something more reasonable later...
OBS is pretty cool, just tried it, thanks!
If you have an NVIDIA GPU, you can use NVIDIA's Shadowplay recorder, and I highly recommend that over FRAPS for the fact that games will not lag while recording.
OBS is bugged with black screen when recording most games.

Shadow Play won't let me record old school games.

Select window or monitor as source, I managed to record everything I tried this way.
