I loved this game on the PS1 still have a copy but its badly scratched, so a digital one would be grand.

However I didn't think there was a PC release for this so I was wondering is it a 'perfect', or ideally improved version of the original. Does it have 360 controller support? From what I remember of the game using a mouse would seem like cheating.

Thanks

No idea (having played neither version of the game), but it does look like a Windows version was released in PAL regions in November 2000. This is probably that version with tweaks for compatibility with newer systems.

Oh bugger so it might just be a shoddy port then?
I actually mentioned this game a couple of days ago in another thread.

Since Infogrames Entertainment is dead as Dillinger is it even possible to revive this game? If it came out on GoG I'd buy it right away.

Edit: Holy crap it did come out!!

I purchased it and played around for a bit and it seems fine, not a bad "port" if that's indeed what it is. Resolutions also go higher than 640x480 which is what I believe PS1 games ran at.
Yeah just bought it as well, finished a couple of levels.

The mouse in this game doesn't work, to aim you need to use Ctrl + arrow keys. Walking is arrow keys as well and there's no way to rebind them (no proper *.ini files to edit as well)

Some music tracks are missing from PS1 game (but as I found out they were missing in the original PC release as well).

My complaint however is the lack of windowed mode and no widescreen resolution support, but hey what can you expect from a 14 year old game? :)

And maybe there is a way to make it work windowed, I just didn't figure it out yet.

But overall it plays great, I have no regrets getting it.

If you're on Windows 8.1 however - I've noticed some people couldn't play it, check HoW forums of GoG to read those posts and see what's their problem.

Edit: Just realized on mission 4 that enemy hogs don't move at all. They try to shoot you, but they never reposition themselves. And other people seem to have this issue as well.

I heard that the enemy not moving was due to a bad original conversion rather then a bug, can anyone confirm this?

Yeah we recently discovered that orignal PC version had this. This is not GoG's fault. PS1 and PC versions were a little different. PC version lacks a couple of music tracks and yeah walking AI is missing from bot pigs...
