cjrgreen: Teachers do have the annoying habit of thinking that the way they were taught was the One True Way :)
If you were taught in Traditional English Latin, I have the greatest sympathy for you. It is an abomination. All the others are at least a little bit tolerable, and Church Latin (both the Italian and German forms) is a beautiful language for singing. I guess it was Northern European Latin (Beeing a german school). But it was really not my language. I did it because the "Latinum" (Latin degree) was back than still mandatory for a lot of university courses. Luckily they dropped that requiremt for most topics nowadays...
