Aliasalpha: Oh its a HP! That explains a lot, they're noisy bastards by default it seems. Does it get hot enough to fry a steak on? It may have a similar cooling problem to mine which was caused because they were too cheap to install a 2 square centimetre piece of copper to actually conduct heat away. I had to order a pre-cut one on ebay and learn how to disassemble & reassemble a poorly designed laptop...
Actually I don't think it is a cooling problem either as it usually has to be on for like 2 hours before it even starts to get remotely warm. I think you may be right about the wire though. It is still under warrenty with Best Buy, but something tells me those bastard wouldn't know how to open it up either. Thanks nonetheless
