Is there any way to improve the speed?
I get 1.2MB\s on steam..

the best I've gotten is using the browser at 80Kb's
The GOG got me 40Kb's

And FDM got me around 12Kb\s.. And I use FDM for all my premium rapidshare downloads..

So any help?
The speed seems fine for me. Although it's certainly not as fast as it has been in the past.

Have you tried an independent downloader?

I had a slow download using Free Download Manager too. I think it just depends what time of day that you're attempting to download and if there's a major event, at that time, where every Tom, Dick and Harry is trying to pull down something.

Speed is also fine for me.
On average I get around 1.05mb.

On a bad day - 835 - 935k.

This was much improved from beta which I normally average around 250k.
Well it jumped to 150Kb\s for about 5 minutes and now it's alllllll the way down to 12Kb\s :(

ETA 27H :(

Lol. Still the same download?
I had this problem, at first the GOG downloader didn't work at all, then it would only download at 12-30 KB/s, occasionally jumping to 100 for a few seconds before falling again. After a week or so it started downloading at 1 MB/s.
It's really annoying, if it happens again I am going to look for those GOG torrents I keep hearing about, maybe they will have better download speeds.
Huzzah!
Jumped to 100Kb\s and finished in 10H :D.
Not complaining but now I need to download a patch from bio-ware because one of the GOG files is corrupt. Another 400Mb but it's going steady at 500+ :D.
I'm on my school's network, and usually sticks around 60Kb/s, but has dropped to 15 in the past, so downloading anything is a lesson in patience.

It might be your geographical location. For reference, my residential connection is 40Mbps down / 5Mbps up and I get max bandwidth through my browser (firefox). I also posted screenshots of my bandwidth test and download speed from GOG. Notice on the download speed that the unit of measure is Bytes not bits (approx. 2 minutes for Fallout 2 download).
