undeadcow: Any opinions on Hitman: Blood Money's omission from the GOG catelogue? It seems ironic that Contacts is here but seemingly not Blood Money. I'm not as familiar with the Hitman series... should I bite the bullet on Steam or hold out for a release on GOG?

Sorry to necro an old thread but perhaps this is the most appropriate place to inquire.

tfishell: I suspect it's not here because Square Enix did any compatibility works themselves and took out the problematic song, thus negating the need for GOG to help out, sadly.
That says it all really.

Note: Absolution is awesome!
absolution more like abomination... it's not a hitman game AT ALL! just an splinter cell wanna be, no sorry they both have those terrible checkpoint save system too!

The best hitman was blood money for me I still play some levels from time to time, in the meantime if you guys wanna play a game like hitman try death to spies 1 and 2 (and the third one is on its way! )

I don't give a shit? :P Not everyone has taste laddy!
Here's a simple question to ask about Square Enix and whether or not they're going to release something here. Does the game require a lot of work done to get running on modern OSes? If so, it'll arrive on GOG. If not, too bad, so sad, sorry about your luck.
The best thing to do is vote with your wallet - buy the other Hitman games on GOG and it will come. :)

not at all, the only problem is the resolution in hitman 2 (old games dont get along with widescreen res) but it is very easy to fix it.
I have enjoyed all the Hitman games so far (I an yet to play Absolution) and Blood Money is probably the best of them to play today, but that said I expect it to come to GOG at some point, probably in the not-too-distant future, so I suggest waiting until it does.
Knowing GOG Hitman classics collection will be complete in next 3 years or so.

You are confusing Hitmen (You never know which one is going to get you! :P). Hitman: Contracts was the game with the problematic song and we have it here already. As for when Blood Money is going to come here, who knows? This year, we had only 2 releases from the big publishers (Activision, EA, Square-Enix, Ubisoft), so I wouldn't be surprised if it came here next year.

I seem to recall a Square Enix employee being asked on Twitter about Blood Money coming to GOG and saying something to the effect of, "No need, it already runs well on modern Operating Systems."

Unless l am misunderstanding what he meant by that, it's like spitting in the face of GOG. It's like saying, "We only release our games on GOG if we need someone to do the work for free of making an old game compatible with modern systems."

I hope I am misunderstanding what he meant. :/

Considering which version of the old Tomb Raider games are hosted on Steam, I wouldn't be surprised. Having said that, I don't think this employee knows completely what he's talking about; Hitman: Contracts was initially released on Steam in January and then brought to GOG 2 months later.
