This "Visual Effects. Compositing. Video editing. Mac & PC." thing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q8S_SD5GkaI

That has these features http://hitfilm.com/ultimate/compare

Is free here https://hitfilm.com/express/free

For 2 weeks. I never heard of it before but it looks pretty cool. It requires clicking on a twitter/facebook share button (either one and you don't actually have to share, the pop up is enough to move it along), then registration > email confirmation > download link + serial. Download says it's 115MB for the windows copy. That'll take some minutes to finish for me. ^^
They are also giving away PhotoKey Lite during the same promotion if anyone is interested - apparently it is good for green sccreen removal etc, it is pretty lite on features compared to the full version but looks ok still, and is worth $50 http://fxhome.com/photokey-lite

Get it here using the same method as the video software.

Thanks for these! Exactly what I needed! +1 to the both of you!
Cool stuff, thanks!
Interesting... Even though I prefer Adobe's programs and kind of dislike Hitfilm's, it might come in handy... Eventually... Maybe?
So lame, it needs you to share it via Twitter/Facebook to download. No thanks, I don't really need it anyway.

Actually, you can just click the share link to get it. I don't use Twitter or Facebook, and it still worked fine. Just dismiss the pop-up window from the link and fill out the form as normal.

Ah ok, because I dislike 'social media'... :D

My sentiment as well. I can see what some folks get out of it, but it is an unappealing form of personal interaction in my view.
Thanks. May be just what I need. One of the reasons I don't have any original videos on my YT channel is that I never had adequate editing software.
Ok, I've downloaded it, thanks. (even if I've never heard of it)

Do you know, however, if these free programs have some restrictions or adware?
Are these serials unlimited or have they got an "end date" for both usage and\or activation?
I still have an old poor unsupported 32 bit computer at the moment lol.

I just asked them and they responded pretty quickly, the software has no end dates or deadline for activation. It is yours, tied to your account you made when you got it. It can be installed whenever you want with no reinstall limits (you can download it whenever you want as well, you don't have to get it now).

I can't see why there would be adware in it, and I have not heard of any problems like this on the forums when I looked around.

Thank you for the info Mabrookes.

Yeah, it seems they are just doing this hoping for increased sales from people who will eventually upgrade to the Ultimate version and of course increased popularity in the long run - sounds like a clean and fair deal.
