LordKuruku: Ok, so I'm a disturbed individual. I never said I wasn't. I'd probably go outside if it snowed and wasn't 104F outside, but that's not the case. I'd probably also sleep in a tent in the backyard and look up at the stars every night, but I don't have a backyard, and again, it's too hot outside. I'm not a recluse by choice, honest! XD
If we are who we choose to be, then you actually are a recluse by choice... and it takes lots of courage to stick to your beliefs rather than abandon them for the sake of more pleasant social interactions.

Our little community is recently in defense mode, trying to accommodate the stream of newcomers while maintaining integrity... which results in a really short fuse and a few ambiguously unpleasant words coupled with low rep can easily cause the proverbial excrement to fall into the ventilation system.

Let's face it - you write reasonable posts and eloquent replies - regardless of their actual content, this signifies respect for your interlocutor, since you are willing to devote your time and effort just so a person can get an interesting and descriptive response.

Furthemore - I demand photos of the origami :3.

LordKuruku: Heh. Good to see you've got a sense of humor after all. I can only imagine you see me as some kind of emo 16-year-old in all black, cuts on their arms, a meth addiction, in a dark room listening to songs about how we're all gonna die and everything is meaningless. I'm sincerely hoping you don't.
Well, that is kind of the impression you give. You just sound so negative all the time.

LordKuruku: It's more of a 23 year old guy with long black hair in all black, spends too much time on forums, loves old games, tinkers with electronics and computers, constantly reading without end, 20 reference sites tabbed open in Firefox, origami decorating everything, sticky notes with passwords, pin layouts, ingredients, and ideas scattered at random, various exercise equipment, and countless cardboard boxes that have been reused in every conceivable way (from arcade sticks and other electronics projects to storage boxes), clay models of everything that can be made with clay, poster boards tacked to entire walls covered in drawings and such brilliant comics as "Death Jester and the Mystery of the Grocery Store Stabbings" and "Jezzball Tournament 3012", a theremin amidst a circle of suicidal plants that are never content with water and sunlight, with electrical tape covering every last annoying LED that likes to glow when I'm trying to sleep.
See, this sounds interesting! This I can relate to. This sounds like a creative, geeky person with diverse interests. Someone I could engage in interesting conversations about all manner of things.

See, it's basically a matter of the attitude you display. When the first thing you say is "this forum sucks", I don't really see how it can come as a surprise to you that you receive some negative reactions.

You should try talking about some of all these hobbies of yours. I bet you'd find a bunch of people interested in the same things. The obvious choice is your love of old games. There is nothing but people interested in old games here. So talk about the games, rather than how much everyone suck. I'm sure you'll find it more enjoyable. You may even find that people here aren't as bad as you thought.
I like Origami. o.o

LordKuruku: Heh. Good to see you've got a sense of humor after all.
I wasn't exactly being deadly serious there, no. But at the same time I wanted to get across to you the fact that the constant negativity spewing forth from your previous posts (clearly alongside quite a few I haven't seen) haven't helped you become a part of this community.

Nobody wants to hate or ostracise you. Well, at least as far as I'm aware they don't. :P It's just that nobody wants to have to deal with such a torrent of unwarranted negativity. It's the internet. It's really just not worth investing that much emotion in.

Declaring your hatred of someone who has replied to you all of once achieves nothing. It's just impotent rage. As such there can never be an end to it; because there's never a resolution to it.

It's good that you've opened up a little and aren't quite so defensive all the time. Keep it that way and this rough introduction to the site can be put behind you.

Oh and on a final note, it wasn't me who down-voted all your posts. I'm getting a little sick of how much that system is being abused at the moment. It used to be a bit more exploit-resistant. I can't up vote them either without further lowering your rep. Gotta love the bugs...
