Howdy, long time lurker, recently i started revisiting some older games, and was filled with the awe and wonder of the wonderful memories. I just thought since I enjoyed revisiting the past, and since this is a website dedicated to an awesome (general) time period of gaming, why not share some of those fond memories? Post music and pictures to bring back 'da nastalgia! Also! dont feel limited by PC only games, we're talking your earliest cherished games, whether its Monkey Island, or Sonic the Hedgehog 2!, we all have those wonderful gooey memories, and im sure we'd all like to hear it! (ALSO if we've already done this thread....just ..ignore i guess =( )

I'll go first,
My fondest memory of gaming had to be Doom 1, at this point i had the shareware version, and only had Knee Deep in the Dead, I remember being very scared at the heaving groans that the zombie dude's made when they were idle, and the roar they blurted when they saw you. For a while i remember being scared of the sound The Doom guy made when he died, so for a while i'd have to play without the sound. But regardless, how fun it was to be strafing around, pumping cacodaemons with the shotgun and never worrying about reloading is still fun to this day!
Here's the Level one theme to bring back some memories for those who enjoyed this game!

Alright Let's see what you guys got ^^
Slapping my first imp in Dungeon Keeper...

Before that, throwing my first "handful of death" in Wasteland.

Before that, er, Kung Fu on my C64.
i don't know what my first really bloody game experience was, it was either doom or mortal kombat 2 on a 486, all that violence at such a young age. There was that fatality in mk2 where you could throw the other dude in a spiky ceiling. good times.
"They stole a million" on the C64

Awesome game, even though it only had six missions and there weren't really much randomness to it. I remember spending days pouring over the blueprints, taking note of the guard routes etc, planning the perfect heist. And then I got to execute it. Have never found a game quite like it since.
Among my very first gaming memories are several Amstrad CPC 464 games :

Manic Miner : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jbJ-fBeDaCw

Jet Set Willy : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xHoDaTw6T-g&feature=related

3D Grand Prix : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rt9s0wbAkCo&feature=related

I don't know how many hours I've spent on those games... but they are engraved in my memory forever ! After that came the Rick Dangerous games, Cauldron series, Yie Are Kung Fu and a handful of other games, then I moved on PC and discovered games like Lands of Lore, Might and Magic and Monkey Island... Ahh, those were the days!
