Thank you all for watching GOG.com's yesterday presentation at CDP Days 2011 Spring Conference. More than 40,000 people were watching the live stream which totally exceeded our expectations. We know lots of you didn't have a chance to log in and watch it live, that's why we're posting the full video recap of the presentation, so you can watch The EnigmaticT and The French Monk on stage.

Curunauth: I think in this case it would be difficult for them to do, other than offering crippled games or some sort of optional Games For Windows "enhancements" to entice folks - but that wouldn't be harmful.
Yes, that's my fear: That there will be parts in the Code that "phone home" after about a month, or that you need a GfWl-Account for the added Features.

Curunauth: Also, OMG, Mechwarrior 2:Mercenaries. Want. I think it's Microprose, iirc -- I used to multiboot with Win98 just because I couldn't get it to run in XP or Linux, and I loved it that much. Only mech game I've played where it actually feels like you're piloting a huge, lumbering mech . . . and I liked my custom midrange sniper mech build. :-)
Well I looked it up:
Activision was responsible for the MW2 series.
Microprose did the MW3 series and Mechcommander
and Microsoft did Mechwarrior 4 series and Mechcommander 2.

So yeah, I was mistaken with Microprose

Anyhow, I'd like to have Crimson Skies, but my favourite would be the Hitman series.
The first Part was censored (forbidden) in Germany.
Good Night

Galimatias: @all the people wondering about my nickname

In my first day at GOG offices I had to choose a nickname for the website.
First thought was to use my normal internet nick but that would leave you guys too much stalking opportunities when Googling me ;)
So after trying various name generators (that suck btw) I tried like 20 nicknames which ALL were taken (QQ) so then a light bulb appeared above my head and everyone went like WTF then I was like ICANHAZANIDEA and that's like Galimatias was born.

And for the info about what Galimatias means @ GOG offices...
Well that's for the next episode of Galimatias @ GOG !

G'night !
I like you.

Curunauth: I hope that the conspicuous lack of mentioning System Shock 2 when discussing EA means they're hiding something . . . since it was the #1 request by a long shot, it can't merely have been an oversight, right?
Interesting that you mention it... I had also noticed how he didn't refer to SS2. Which is quite strange, knowing how it's a sort of Holy Grail of GOG fans.
I hope they get Lucasarts I bought some of the Dark Forces games (first one, second one, and the expansion) and the second one and its expansion have graphics problems like rainbow colors, the first one works fine but the two 3D games need some work so hopefully I can get a refund for them all on Steam if GOG gets them since GOG could likely do a lot better at getting them to work on a newer OS. It would be cool if they could also get Doom games and Duke Nukem games, I just yesterday played Xbox Live demos for them both and would love to have them to play on PC.
I will Pre Order!! I want to reward Cd Projekt for not making it a dumbed down console port!!

The Witcher 3 will look awsomer!!
As I get older, I find my gaming tastes getting more sentimental. I miss the glory days of PC gaming and remember so many of these games so fondly.

Thank you GOG for what you do and how well you do it. I will continue to strongly support you by buying as many games as I can and by telling all of my friends about your amazing service. Best wishes for continued growth.

Now can I please have the Thief franchise? :)
I hope one of the two publishers not mentioned might be Egosoft and specifically the X-Superbox with its X-Series from its beginning to X3 Terran Conflict as it is already DRM-free but not available here in the US unless you go to places to download that do NOT offer decent support that I can see, and are some of the best truly open "universe" games. The second I hope is Sega with its Total War series. Although the best such as Shogun 2 might not be available, the older games in the series might since they don't sell those locally here in town.

Also I have a question about SpellForce series, I looked them up and they were produced by what seems to be a subsidiary of EA called EA Phenomic, does this mean we might get SpellForce 2 Platinum from the EA deal if such a deal has been signed? I hope so as I love the Spellforce series and I would hate for not being able to play it anymore because JoWood went under.

To GOG employees and execs, well...thanks for making games available for us gaming masses without the problems of DRM and other nastiness that detracts from what gaming should be about...having fun playing a hero or villain or strategist or anything else on a computer that those wacky game designers make. I was honestly initially leery of buying anything on GOG and now to paraphrase an earlier comment, it was one of my better decisions to join and purchase the good games you offer.

So thanks GOG for giving us gamers what we want...games without the hassle so many other services and companies try to push on us.
