Barefoot_Monkey: Any list of good 80's games is incomplete without Prince of Persia and Bubble Bobble. Those were brilliant (for completely different reasons)
Prince of Persia was actually 1990 for PC. Well, I assume we are only talking about IBM compatible PCs specifically, and not other kinds of computer system...

I didn't know that. I remember playing it before 1990, but in hindsight that may well have been on an Apple.
Oh man Neuromancer was a great adventure game, but it would be pretty much impossible to sell today.

I mean Interplay was the developer, Activision was the publisher, AND presumably you'd need William Gibson's permission too

PetrusOctavianus: Dungeon Master and Chaos Strikes Back. These game were years ahead of their contemporary CRPGs when it came to UI and audiovisuals, and are still great fun to play.
DM is awesome, when Grimrock came out, I was intrigued, bought it, but instead of playing it, I went through all of the Dungeon Masters again, great fun.
