There's an NES game that I played a long time ago that I have never been able to identify. I only have the faintest of memories about this one, but hopefully someone can help.

I'm pretty sure it was released a good while before the SNES, since I got rid of my NES when the SNES came out. I'd guess 1989 at the latest. You started out in some kind of blue and black space pod that could move in eight directions in a side-view. The first area was divided into rooms with metal walls and exits up, down, left, or right. I don't remember if the entire game was like this, or if it was just the beginning part.

That's about all I remember, and I'm not even sure if it's accurate. Any ideas?

edit: or was I thinking of Air Fortress? I believe I was thinking of Air Fortress.

One game that comes to mind is Solar Jetman, but that doesn't fill the room requirement.
Air Fortress may be what I was remembering, but I'm not sure. The gameplay definitely looks similar. Were there any other games that played like it?

Blaster Master would be kind of similar. It's still not spacey though.
