Also if you call Microsoft and tell them that your old computer died, and you need to install it on your new one, they may very well let you do that (I've heard of it happening in the past.)

Cost of shipping varies...and actually I think Best Buy may price match, and if that's the case then you can just show them the prices on newegg and get everything at that cost with no shipping charge :)

Yeah, I rebooted my computer that previously had xp with W7. OS isn't a problem.

Could I have a detailed explanation on how price match works?

Also if the cost of the computer parts separately is 566 altogether, could someone get me an estimate on the cost of shipping? I'm gonna see if I can figure that out myself, but maybe you'll beat me to it.

The easiest way to check shipping is to add everything to a cart on the online store, and then it'll auto-calculate the shipping for you.

Price match is basically where if you can prove that someone else has the same part for less, they'll sell it to you for their competitor's price. So basically if you can show them all the webpages for the different parts, they SHOULD honor those prices. :) (I'm just suggesting this, since if you bought them at a brick and mortar store, shipping wouldn't be an issue :)

I made just a few adjustments to the list given to me by Pilot, namely the power supply because it was out of stock on newegg and the motherboard because I figured I'd just make everything amazon.

So here's what we got. Anything wrong with this list?:

CPU:
Intel Core i3-2100 Dual-Core 3.1 GHz 3 MB Cache LGA 1155 - BX80623I32100
http://amzn.to/ItL3hY
120$

Motherboard:
BIOSTAR H61MGC LGA 1155 Intel H61 Micro ATX Intel
http://amzn.to/xqVWPN
50$

RAM:
G.SKILL NS 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Desktop Memory Model F3-10600CL9D-4GBNS
http://amzn.to/PsgEUm
34$

Video:
HIS Radeon HD 6870 1 GB (256bit) GDDR5 DisplayPort HDMI 2x DVI (HDCP) PCI Express X16 2.1 Video Card H687FN1GD
http://amzn.to/Icg1LE
160$

Storage:
Seagate Barracuda 7200 500 GB SATA 6.0 Gb-s 16 MB Cache 3.5-Inch Internal Bare Drive ST500DM002
http://amzn.to/rDyRUc
73$

ODrive:
Sony AD-7280S-0B 24x SATA Internal DVD+/-RW Drive (Black)
http://amzn.to/IDw7w9
18$

Power:
Rosewill HIVE Series HIVE-550 550W 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Power Supply
http://amzn.to/MPXaUH
80$

Case:
Nzxt Technologies USB 3.0 Tempest 410 Steel Mid Tower Airflow Case - T410-001 (Black)
http://amzn.to/IDxv1Q
70$

It seems it meets these requirements:

Hitman Absolution system requirements (recommended)
•CPU: 2.6 GHz quad core Intel or AMD processor, Core i5 or Phenom X2
•RAM: 2GB
•Graphics: DirectX 10 compatible card with 1GB of video memory, Nvidia 400-series or AMD 5000-series.
•Operating system: Windows 7
•DirectX compatible sound card
•10 GB of hard drive space

Also I wonder if I can salvage the ODrive and Storage from my own computer. Forgot what kind my computer has, and don't feel like cracking it open just to see it. Wasn't there a free program you could use for that?

Also I wonder if I could manage a smaller case. Thoughts?

I summon you!
Lol, for some reason that wasn't showing as telling me that I have a forum reply...sorry! :)

So the only two things that are different are the power supply and the motherboard? Well, those ones you found on amazon are the same ones that the list suggests, so I'd definitely so go with that! :)
I would personally go with an nVidia card, but it's up to you, I would mostly because of AMD's OpenGL support is lacking...

As for the o-drive and storage, if your previous computer is fairly modern, it SHOULD have SATA hard drive and pretty much every motherboard I have come across has both SATA and IDE for the optical drive.

Please, tell me more about you're advice regarding nVidia. Would that be a big problem?

Yeah, however I'd kindly ask you to double check if you could please that it's all compatible still (if it's not too much to ask), or maybe tell me how I could.
Also someone brought up the issue that the integrated sound card on the motherboard might not be satisfactory, but I'm assuming it's probably good.

Well, depends completely on the game really. For example, Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath requires OpenGL, but the majority of AMD video card users had graphical problems/ the game not even starting past the intro movie.

Many games use OpenGL, so my advice would be to go with an nVidia if you want to be sure.
Yepp that'll all work together! :)

And IMO the Radeon card is perfectly fine! :)

And unless your an audiophile, the sound card should be perfectly fine :)

Thanks you guys.

I would like you to double check sloganvirst's perception of the AMD card I have. Not being able to run alot of games because "most of them use openGL" and "AMD has problems with openGL" seems like it could be a big issue. Stranger's Wrath was even a game I was thinking about playing.

Thoughts?
It sounds like the latest drivers for AMD cards seem to have fixed pretty much any OpenGL issues that there used to be. :)
