NoNewTaleToTell: 80s music? The New York Dolls were a huge influence on the 80s rock scene, particularly Nikki "Am I Johnny Thunders yet?" Sixx (and Motley Crue in general), Hanoi Rocks and Guns N' Roses.

And like I said, by being a helpful, friendly member of the community (and not asking for games haha). It's worked for me...but then again I own the New York Dolls debut album so....

darthspudius: I met Hanoi Rocks in the underwear section of a discount clothing store in my city lol.
Well geez now I'm jealous haha. I'm a huge fan of Hanoi Rocks and Michael Monroe's solo work.

I've met Monroe twice, the band once, seen him perform twice and saw hanoi rocks twice. Great band and performers. A shame they split up.

In all fairness. a lot of influences never get known regardless of genre or decade. It can be a sticky thing, especially over in the States where what bands you'd heard of could depend on what side of town you lived on.

Yeah, but the reunion was great while it lasted at least. I've gotta ask, how nice Michael Monroe was haha. I seem to remember him winning a award for being the friendliest person in Finland a few years ago.

For a lack of better words, he's a little blonde mullet wearing teddy bear. Very friendly bloke.

By all means you're correct. Heck, the New York Dolls have been close to being completely forgotten at times, they've been helped immensely by guys like Nikki Sixx talking them up. Same deal with bands like The Misfits, if it weren't for bands like Metallica (and of course Danzig's solo career) they would've been forgotten and you wouldn't be able to buy Misfits Fiend Club laundry detergent (it's gonna happen one day!) at the mall.

Antimateria: What person? some horrible fuck?
IIRC it's Elizabeth McGlynn. During that whole Silent Hill HD collection fiasco she gave some really disgusting interviews, especially concerning the original voice actor of James Sunderland from Silent Hill 2, Guy Cihi. As far as I can tell her main job while working on the HD collection was to defame the original cast in order to justify the re-recording of the voices (which only had to be done because Konami hadn't done proper paper work in the first place).

Of course I'm exaggerating, IIRC she was the voice director for both games, but still - she did some really nasty stuff there.
