I bought a used Wii last year and haven't finished a single game in it, and it's not even because of the games, with the console at the end of its lifecycle I could make an informed decision There were even some games I really loved like Trauma Team or Xenoblade, it's just that whenever I stop to play something I never even remember the Wii as an option, and when I do I get to lazy to play it. Well, I'm gonna give it another chance with The Last Story today, the question is whether or not I'll play it again tomorrow.
Fun stuff. The copy of The Last Story I had since forever but never played doesn't actually work and my console was only displaying green and purple colors. The game was unsalvageable but at least the image problem I was able to fix with the component cables. This is what I get for being away for so long.

Gonna try my luck again with Super Mario Galaxy.
Sorry to hear that. Last Story is a marvelous game (IMO), and definitely one of my favorites of the year, if not my GOTY.

I go on cycles of which console(s) I ignore and which ones I play. When I got my Wii, I ignored my GameCube (for obvious reasons). When I got my Xbox 360, I ignored my Wii. When I got my 3DS, I ignored my Xbox 360, and when I got my laptop, I ignored my 3DS. Now, it depends on which interesting game I got for it that determines which one I binge on. Been playing PC games as of late, with my consoles crying XD

PSP. Huge waste of money.
A big reason why I got a tablet was for portable gaming. What a mistake that was! :(

You will enjoy the incoming awesome Fall of Deus Ex ! :D
Well, all of my consoles and portables collect dust at some point, since whether or not I play them entirely depends on if I feel like playing a game for that system. Currently, all of them aside from my DSi XL are collecting dust, since I'm currently playing PC games mostly.

Also, my PS2 gathers dust all the time, since even if I want to play a PS2 game, I'd rather do so on my PC via an emulator rather than on the system itself.
For me it all depends on the games. Sometimes I find a game for my PSP that I can't put down, other times it's a game on the (3)DS. Likewise with the PC and consoles. Now that all my current consoles (i.e., Wii U and PS3) can be hooked up to my PC monitor, it's easy to switch between them. The SNES and GameCube get less play time as they have to be plugged into the TV.

Right now Fantasy Life is still occupying my handheld time, so the PSP isn't getting much use. The Wii U (for a couple of Wii games) and PC are occupying the rest of my gaming time. Although the PS3 is edging in there now too as I got Ni No Kuni for half price on PSN, but once Pikmin 3 arrives next month, the PS3 will probably lie dormant for the rest of the summer (good thing too, it doesn't really like the heat).
I bought a PS2 to play Final Fantasy X. Other than Final Fantasy X-2 and Final Fantasy XII I can't remember a single other game I played on it for any length of time. Like the PS1 it was basically a Square-Enix machine, only by that point I had lost interest in most JRPGs and games of that sort, so it just collected dust.

I think I did play GTA: San Andreas on it while waiting for the PC version though.

You missed a loooooot of games on the PS2 than:

Jak and Daxter
Rachet and Clank
Devil May Cry
God of War
Metal Gear Solid
Silent Hill
Ico and Shadow of the Colossus
Zone of the Enders.
Kingdom Hearts
And Final Fantasy XII, have seen the world of Ivalice? Best world in Final Fantasy ever.

I was going to mention the PSP too, but even though it's been a long time I probably played it too much to still count.

Have you tried playing any PS1 games in it? I swear that's how I spent half of my time with the system. Some of my fondest memories were playing Symphony of the Night and Tomba 2 with it.

None of those games are really in my genres except FFXII, which I said I played.

Hmm, after playing Amnesia: TDD I have no interest in playing any other survival games, they pretty much ruined the genre for me, as I can't imagine anybody ever topping it.

As for the topic, the only reason I'm willing to buy a console anymore is to rent games for it. Otherwise, they wind up gathering dust.

Which reminds me, I need to pull my SNES/NES/Genesis out of the box and do some retro gaming. I've got a ton of games I haven't played in too long. Not to mention my GBA games.
