Overall, the story was forgettable, the morality simple and very black & white (as expected from a child's movie).

However, the execution was very good and there was much richness in the little details (and I liked the character ensemble).

I quite liked the fact that the witch was not evil for a change, just incompetent.

And of course, the daughter-mother moments were touching (I felt a deep emotional connection once or twice during the movie), but I connected with Up more emotionally.

ah Up I was sad that not only Carl's wife paased away before him, they did not have any children :(
it was actually done by the same team (within Pixar) as UP.

Indeed

Definitely a movie mixed of action, adventure, and emotion. I actually cried at near end because it was a touching and heart-warming scene. The music accompanied with certain scenes blended greatly and was well in place. The movie was great, but I find and feel that the audience in attendance gave it more atmosphere due to how everyone was into it. It is well worth the price and an actual treat. Luckily I had a large popcorn and pop to keep me fulfilled hunger wise :P The movie's focal plot (to me) was about the daughter & mom relationship and was established well throughout. I won't spoil anything but you see through the daughter's perspective that her mom is actually quite similar in terms of personality, this makes their bond more fond and strong at movie's end than originally how it is initially at the start.

Ooh. Maybe I'll actually be able to stand it, then.
Just pointing out that though Pixar's a part of Disney, they're more like an independent sub-company than "Disney's 3D Animators". :)
