Empire folded last year and sold everything to some people called Zoo. I've never heard of them, and I doubt very much they plan to do anything with the older properties. I have the Amiga AGA version of Dreamweb, but I hear that the PC version features Redbook digital audio and talkies. Anyone know where I can snag a used, or dare I hope, a new copy?

If you have a negative opinion about this game, I've heard them all, and I don't care to hear yours, so please keep it to yourself. I liked the game. It's like Blood Omen meets Blade Runner. You know, how in Blood Omen you have to kill all the Pillar Guardians to restore the fabric that holds the world together? In Dreamweb you have to kill all the people (people who happen to be in very powerful worldly positions; celebrities, senators, captains of industry, etc.) whose subconscious minds are the focal points in the Dream Web, else they plunge the world into the hopeless future of megacorporate controlled society, degenerating into nuclear war. It preceded GTA and the like in depicting graphic scenes of sex, drugs and violence. For the love of Mike, you have to kill your first "objective" while he's in the throes of mid-coitus! Tell me that doesn't kick ass!

You can get an old copy in my attic.
But seriously, you're not getting it.
It was friggin' awesome!
I've never played an adventure game quite like it since. The glorious violence, the 'Madman's Diary' included with the game. If they ever release it on GOG I'm buying a copy of it for all my friends.
I've got one in my drawers

Err so to speak...

It was a pretty awesome and creative game, it'd definitely be a worthy addition to GOG even if the manual always made me want to listen to Ozzy Osbourne
Sounds like my kind of game. Whether that's a good thing or makes me out to be some sort of sicko I don't really care.

It makes you more like me

Whether THAT'S a good thing or not is open for debate...

Well, sometimes being very wrong is also very right.... ;)
Peaceniks are the sickos. Humans are naturally driven to fight each other for dominance, resources, territory, etc. That's actually kinda part of the plot. The Dreamweb (a variation on the concept of the Noosphere, look it up) is the mental plane of Earth. There are seven or eight focal points in the Web, each pinned down by the mind of a powerful, influential person in the physical plane. The natural violent tendencies of human beings begin to poison the minds of these focal points, and this mental poison will trickle down to the rest of the population if the seven or eight (I don't remember which) main people aren't killed and their minds "purified" through re-incarnation.

It's kinda like that old Celtic ritual where a whole family of a tribe had to sacrifice itself lest the whole tribe be driven to madness or the tribe's crops and livestock wither and die or something like that. Some sensationalized variation on Samhain or some such nonsense.
