Wishbone: I now declare this bazaar open! (Probably only Scandinavians will get that reference, I don't think it's a New Year's tradition anywhere else)
I'm Norwegian... I still don't get it.
Happy new year from Brazil =)
It's 2012 and we're still all offline. In less than a year there won't be much left to fix.

Mayans, haww yeah.

Hmm, is it only us and the Swedes then?

Well, here and in Sweden (as far as I know) every New Year's Eve we watch Dinner For One, an old skit with two British actors, recorded in Germany for some reason. Two versions exist, and I believe we watch one while the Swedes watch the other one.

Looking at the various versions on YouTube, I can now conclude that at least 3 versions exist, and I can't find the one we usually watch in Denmark. This is the closest one, however (linked to the point where Danish TV sends it from. They cut out the German announcer).
Now I am finally sober, so SZCZESLIWEGO NOWEGO ROKU!

Ah, here that's broadcast on Christmas eve, not New Year's eve.
Dinner for one is a classic, but it's been a while since I've seen it. Dutch TV ain't what it used to be, so I don't watch TV anymore. A new Dutch classic is a week-long Top 2000 from 25-31 december 24-hour non-stop on the radio. Last song (no. 1) is usually Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody. I hate that song myself.

With some friends we made our own top 44 last night. It ends with 'When the music's over' by The Doors on no. 1. No time for internet last night, it's now 12 hours and 25 minutes into New Year on GMT+1 (Holland) and I say:

HAPPY NEW YEAR everybody! (first time I used CAPS-LOCK on an internet posting).
anyone who believes in the Mayan apocalypse is stupid.

15 hours into 2012
