Elmofongo: How often does an ending makes you cry in happiness? Me not often until recently I saw this one film. So I just ask what is the most happiest ending you ever seen in film?
BreOl72: Usually I only cry on not-so-happy-endings...there is only one movie with an happy end, where I can never hold back the tears: "It's a wonderful life", with Jimmy Stewart.
I'm not the sort that cries over happy endings, I find that response to happiness to be a little odd. A well made tragic ending will certainly bring out a few tears from me, though.
DieRuhe: Foxfire. Not crying, just tearing up. I haven't "cried" in over 30 years. :-)
tinyE: Angelina Joli coming of age movie right? That was actually pretty good.
No, actually a movie with John Denver, Hume Cronyn, and Jessica Tandy. It was about a singer (naturally) who left his simple home to seek fortune and fame, only to find it wasn't all it was cracked up to be. Also dealt with losing a parent and the changes life sometimes forces upon us.
The Robin Williams movie "What Dreams May Come" had a happy ending but still made me tear up a little. The film is deliberately schmaltzy, but still manages to be beautiful and imaginative in its scenery.
It's not quite a happy movie in the conventional sense, but Starman has a great ending - a mix of hope and melancholy. When I first watched that movie it really got to me.
