GG has several horror/mystery themed games on sale and since there is still nothing here or at Steam, anyone wants to give info if you have played any of the following games and if they are worth it?

Alter Ego, Black Mirror, Cursed Mountain, Dark Fall:Lost Souls, Darkness Within: In Pursuit of Loath Nolder, Haunted House, I'm Not Alone, Obscure, Realms of Illusion - Sentinel.

Don't even.
If the GOG team releases System Shock 2 for Halloween, I will have sex with a turducken and videotape it for their viewing pleasure.

Here's hoping they find inspiration in that, and follow through *raises wine glass*

Edit: ^ that's what this thread is about, right? ;)

I just looked up what 'turducken' is and havta say i was pleasently surprised, my first thought was wildly out of the park.

Your sexual fetish for poultry is a great teacher. Thanks.
From the reviews all games you mentioned can be recommanded except Alter Ego and Im not alone.
I saw a gameplay vid for Dark Fall: Lost Souls, and it looks *amazing*. From what I gathered from the video, Jonathan Boakes really outdid himself on that one. I'm also going to buy Obscure to play with my brothers, and Haunted House is on my wanted list too. I read in a few places that Alter Ego isn't very good. Can't say much more about the rest.

Obscure looks like an early Resident Evil. Can't say I am thrilled about that. I still have no idea what type of game Haunted House is. I watched (part of it) a "let's play" of Alter Ego and it looked good to me. Very good graphics and sound, average animation, logical puzzles (that is a must) which don't rely on out of place puzzles. No triangles to place inside a square vaze so that a ball drops on a plate which allows the plate to fly over a teddy bear and hit a switch you need to turn on.
I like puzzles only if they are related to the game world and what you are trying to achieve.

Obscure would be a great Halloween game. It's like Resident Evil/Silent Hill, but in High School.
I love black mirror it has a very good story for me ( some friend of mine find it too boring and in some point not very linear but I enjoy it so much) . I don't really enjoy Dark fall because I haven't play previews games before. I was interested in Alter ego but i think I'll wait next sale cause I already have too many game to play.

Yeah. I bought it by virtue of its 2-player co-op, and I read somewhere that the functions of each character are unique to the individual, so it should be interesting.

By the way, there is this series of Dracula games that is also on sale there. I'm hearing mixed reactions on that one, but I might get it anyway. One adventure reviewer actually likes it a lot, even though it is not very well received across the board.
