Aliasalpha: I wonder what caused the decline, surely wouldn't be massive flooding of the market with crap would it?
Surely such a classy, thoughtful, considerate company as Activision would never do that? They would never continually spawn terrible GH games and charge full price for them, would they?

In all seriousness, I wish Activision and their exploitative ways nothing but ill.
Like it's been said before, as long as the sheeple continue to swallow the CoD by-products they make, they'll continue selling them. This doesnt seem like a big deal, it's not like they can start making new GH games in the future.

Do you mean that it's not like they can't? Or have I misunderstood you?

Also, I personally have given a grand total of £4 to Activision during my entire life, and that was for Wolfenstein 3D on the PSN, so I feel proud for not contributing to their sewer of endless sequels.
Bungie left Microsoft last year. They're by themselves now, but Microsoft still owns the Halo franchise. They made a new studio to develop Halo games. Bungie got fed up with being forced to make new Halo games and wanted to make something new.

Aliasalpha: Guitar Hero has been officially killed by activision, never saw that coming

I love the quote: “due to continued declines in the music genre, the company will disband Activision Publishing’s Guitar Hero business unit and discontinue development on its Guitar Hero game for 2011."

I wonder what caused the decline, surely wouldn't be massive flooding of the market with crap would it?
Rock Band kinda took over.
