I apologize if this has been posted before (I did a search but didn't see any where this was posted), but I recently found it trying to get Grim Fandango to play on my rig. I have tried it and it seems to do the trick so I hope it helps those who have had any issues getting their copies to run.

:)
For my version of Grim Fandango, I had horrible sound syncing issues and the game locked up every time I tried to access the options. I had to set the grimfandango.exe file (NOT the launcher) into compatibility mode for Windows 98 for it to work properly. So if you have lingering issues, you may need to try that in addition to the steps listed in the guide.

The launcher and/or install utility apparently don't work for everyone, either, which is unfortunate. Still, this is a useful guide for a very uncooperative game.
True, I've been lucky to get it to run without many issues after using these. Though, thanks for the extra info. I love this game it's a shame that it has (more than a few) issues to get it to run.
Thankfully it worked perfectly for me using the installer and launcher. Thanks for the guide, should help people who want to try out this great game.
ResidualVM (ScummVM for Grim Fandango) has a nice progress recently. It makes sense to try it, especially if you are using Mac or Linux.
Don't have Windows 7, but I am running Grim Fandango on residual beta without any problems, and most of what I have read indicates it will work fine on Windows 7.
A lot of the fixes for Grim Fandango simply don;t work with modern VIdeo Cards or COmputers.I think what happened is people were just waiting for Residual. Thank heaven Residual seems to be in the final stages as far as Grim Fandango goes.
