Hi! Just bought Morrowind and would like to know about what mods are out there. I downloaded the mod Morrowind 2011 Compendium http://blog.fileplanet.com/2011/01/11/morrowind-compendium-2011/ which has some aamazing graphics (photos in the link as well). What disturbs me is ahtat there is no functioning read me in either the compilation itself or the underlying commentaries. My qeustions are therefor: 1. has anyone installed this or know how to install this (probably quite similar to other Morrowind mods) or 2. do u know other graphic mods that might be easier to handle?
Thanks guys!

Found some instructions there. Apparently the original site with instructions was taken down because some people didn't like their mods being put in the package.
Any mod collection that involves MGE (as that compendium does, judging from the screenshots,) is going to be non-trivial to set up. Texture packs are the easiest; just copy them into morrowinds data folder and you're done. I always used to use Khalazza production's Visual Pack + Qual's visual pack, but that was an age ago so I've no idea what alternatives are around now. I also tend to use better bodies, real signposts and no-glo, although those last two more personal taste than must-haves.

Nope.

here, 1 installer, installs LOD, improves textures and sounds, adds stuff like HDR, godrays and depth of field, very customisable, follow readme. It IS easy, readme just tells you what to press :D

edit: video preview

edit edit: There's even videotutoriall for installation, it won't get any easier!

I'm not sure I'd consider something that needs a 12 minute long how-to-install tutorial video as trivial, but at least it's got some pretty good documentation. MGE setup does seem to have got a little more reliable too; back when I first added the LOD feature, telling someone just to click on this and that button without worrying about how any of it worked would never have worked. Seems people have been busy undoing my damage since I left. :p

Half of the tutorial is just a guy hovering over button so you know what to press. Really, it's as simple as it gets, just a bit time consuming - it doesn't require any understanding from your part to get it installed. I installed it in roughly 5 minutes or so when I went by the text tutorial, that thing even launches appropriate software at apropriate time so you don't have to tire your sweet left mouse button by doing it manually :D
Thanks you guys! Lots of hugs and kisses <3:D
I haven't tried the compendium one, but I did use Overhaul, and it was awesome. Except for the faces. They look good by themselves, but when they are placed on the bodies they look rather odd. It was sort of creeping me out. The faces were also rather inconsistent. I ended up using one of the older face replacement packs on top of overhaul.
Glad you posted this. I've always been put off by compilation mods as they tend to to not account much for style or other mods. quite often they will add something that is attrocious. The screens and vids look pretty good, I'll have to give this a try as I just decided to start playing this one again.

Hopefully this will get along with the other hundred mods I use ;)

For general Morrowind mods, check out tesnexus. (texnexus only has about 2,000 morrowind mods. They are the best play for Oblivion mods at over 20k. I can't recall where all they great Morrowind mods were hosted, but I think they are no longer hosting them :( )

If you have other hundred mods, it'll probably occur to you that you shouldn't choose plugins for more trees and stuff like that from the installer, but, for the love of god, do NOT install grass. It won't get overriden as all other conflicting plugins since it's basically a graphical effect added by MGE - you'd end up with hills made of grass on places where your mods changed anything at all about heightmap
i can just add that the aoverhaul mod workds flawelsessly for me, and thanks to your links on video and text based tutorials, everything was super simple. Thanks once again GOG:s!
