I wanted to share a mod that dropped earlier this week that is one of the better total conversions for Grand Theft Auto III. The Alpha mod for Grand Theft Auto III tries to recreate the cartoony alpha version of the game that Rockstar planned when the game was in the early stages of development. For the most part, these modders managed to create a very good mock version of this planned build of the game with more to come in the coming weeks. It's not exact and some elements deviate from what was planned, but overall, it is a very ambitious mod that does deliver the goods.

Neat. I always appreciated how GTA3 and VC had a more comic-book or graphic-novel style approach to their graphics. The more realistic look of San Andreas didn't do anything for me.

I rather wait for the LEGO version.

Until Rockstar can convince Lego to make it, this is the best we will get. :P
