Aliasalpha: You could almost add resident evil 5 but thats because the controls were so awful it was almost impossible to hit anything in the head so it was more efficient to stand perfectly still waving a knife like a lunatic waiting for things to walk into it
Is the game itself bad? I was thinking about getting either RE5 on Steam or RE5 Gold on PS3.

Aliasalpha: Pretty sure it is but radiation is pretty predictable and they'd have mapped out the hot points and made sure people won't go near it, imagine the lawsuits if someone turned into a ghoul
I think that will be me.
Well I played the demo on the xbox and quit before the end because I hated the controls so much. Then I made it through I think 4-5 levels (on a borrowed copy) in coop with a girl before we stopped the session and I vowed to never play it again.

I'm something of a control elitist though, bad controls or bad design decisions about controls are one of the first things that turns me off a game and the inability to, for example, step backwards away from the FUCKING HUGE HORDE OF ZOMBIES whilst shooting is a definite no-no for me. The game came down to "see zombie horde, shoot them until they get close, run away, stop, turn around & repeat"

In short, I'm the worst person to ask for a fair opinion because the only game I hate more than RE5 is final fantasy 7

No that would suck. Years of being asked if I have wood would really piss me off.
I want to be one of the feral ghouls.

Dammit. I want to gradually evolve into one, you know, like Darwin said.
In Russia you do not look into the sarcophagus, the sarcophagus looks into YOU!

Edit: didn't really mean to be mean... im just rather surprised they'll let people in.. the rads are still off the chart and its pretty much like walking into a field of xray machines in certain areas.

What nonsense. The area has been open for visiting for 5 years. In fact, I originally planned to go in October but due to a lack of funds, had to drop the plans. Also, it's now the last year or two that you'll be able to venture inside the Prypiat buildings because they'll soon be closed off. Right now, most you can still visit inside but that can soon change so for those who want to see the most interesting part of the whole zone (i.e. the abandoned ghost city), better book soon.

FF7 was my first introduction to Final Fantasy. My Amiga died around '95 or '96, so I finally had to turn to "mainstream" games. Likewise, I was more of a "Dino Crisis" person than Resident Evil, so RE5 would be my first entry.

Starkrun: OK going to be a douch and ignore every single comment to post a thought bassed off the subject of post #1

Anyone into Pripyat will laugh, maybe... ok sorry :(
Sure, if there were anyone left. Inappropriate Starkrun... Inappropriate.
Actually, it seems that the area has been open for a while. I read this a few years ago (around the time I played the first STALKER ;)), and it gave a very interesting description of what the state is now in Chernobyl. Not really sure if I would like to go there myself though...
