So, with 8 episodes under its belt I can say that while not breathtaking, it is a damn fine show.
I quite liked how they showed Penguin's development from nobody to monster. And as a Batman fan I quite like all the little bits they pepper the show with. Even if they go against stablished comic canon (Venom was developed in Santa Prisca and Wayne entreprises had nothing to do with it). I consider the show to have its own continuity and praise the efforts to incorporate elements of the comic mythos into its own setting.
I'm also enjoying the whole "whodunnit and why" element of the series. Mainly the murder of the Waynes. It might tie in with the Nolan movies, attributing their murder to the league of shadows, but that'd be predicable and I'd like the producers to come up with an entirely different culprit.
Which doesn't mean I don't want Ra's and his league to go anywhere near this series. Maybe they can show us a young Talia attending the same school as Bruce?
So, who else is enjoying it?
