Hi first time poster here, had a search but couldn't find a post relating to this.

we're gonna do a games night at my work so I'm looking for suggestions for multiplayer games we can play. preferably not too complicated. prob we will have 4-6 people playing. can be team based or co-op or deathmatch style.

gog appeals because of the lack of DRM we can just buy one copy and install everywhere. don't want to buy 6 copys for something we do once!!

looking for games suggestions. shooters or RTS are what I'm thinking.

Game of choice: Heroes of might and magic 3 gold

Reason: The what now?

Edit: Oh, FPS or RTS. Then go for Unreal Turnament or Serious Sam.

Painkiller: http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/painkiller

Aim and shoot just about sums up this game. I don't know much about its multiplayer, but from the games page you need a CD key. Support for Painkiller multiplayer here
Unreal Tournament is both very fun and very easy to learn/
Unreal Tournament and for strategy games ... let's see ... Stronghold is insanely fun. Or Total Annihilitaion
Try Serious Sam for FPS or Sacrifice for a really cool RTS.
Its not for sale on GOG but a quick google search should yield results. Try Spectre VR, we wasted many a night in the computer lab back in college playing this.
Noone's mentioned duke nukem 3d? Seriously? I mean I hate the game but it still sounds perfect for this
UT2004 all the way.
If you can't find anything to your liking here, try some Free games. And by that I mean try all the Q3-engine-based games you can find (suggestions: OpenArena, Tremulous, Urban Terror, Nexuiz, Warsow, World of Padman).

Serious Sam has already been mentioned, but note you can play it co-op.
hey thanks for all the suggestions. I'll report back when we've tried one...
Duke Nukem 3D multiplayer is loads of fun. Not sure how easy it is to set up on LAN though.

Kingpin is also great fun.

Rainbow Six is a very good multiplayer game if your pals are willing to try something challenging.

Lastly, all of the above recommendations.
