jc_dentondx: Oh and it's NOT for THAT reason... I hear what the pervy ones are thinking!

I broke my right hand and can't play any fast-paced games for a while. So could you guys suggest any decent slow games which are managable whith only one hand? I'd prefer something more in the RPG vein, but I'm not against turn-based strategy if it has a decent campaign and is beginner friendly (don't play too much strategy).

Thanks,
The Phoenix Wright games for the DS can be played with one hand, I'd give those a shot. Great games as well, aside from some of the spelling errors.

jc_dentondx: Actually I like the sound of Sanitarium. Just remebered I bought it at the start of the GOG sale and haven't tried it yet, sounds like just the ticket if I can manage it with one hand.
I'd recommend checking the Sanitarium forum, it doesn't play well with multicore computers, unless you set CPU affinity. Not sure if you've got a multicore computer, but it will infuriate you otherwise.

As for the topic, pretty much any of the King's quest or space quest games should be easily playable with only one hand. Heroes of Might and Magic, Gobliiins, Myst, Riven, The Settlers II. And don't forget Call to Power 2.

the music of canabalt is delicious.... :)
Have you thought about any of the Bioware D&D RPGs? (Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale, PST)? Set the autopause for the end of every round and you could easily play it with one hand. If you have a mouse that you can map the space bar to a button on it, and it'll be even easier.

Didn't the first couple of KQ games have really annoying keyboard controls for movement?

Yes, but they work just fine with only one hand. You move to where you want to go, then type in the appropriate command to do whatever you want to do.

Good point!
I played broken sword when I hurt my arm a few weeks ago. Adventures are nice mouse only games without time pressure. So Sanitarium seems like a good choice!

Problem with the DnD games (at least IWD and BG) is that you need to hit the space (pause) quite often to survive (at least I did). The alternative of hovering the mouse to the clock and clicking just isn't as nice. You could try the turnbased Templeof Elemental Evil though.

Turn based strategies also work well, so Age of Wonders, Disciples or Heroes of Might and Magic are nice.

I also played Magic: The Gatheriring on Steam, so if you like that sort of thing you could check that out as well.
Dungeon Siege I think was single hand friendly.

Vagabond: Obligatory: Torchlight!
This...
and Canabalt...
Hammerfight is a good one if you love to cause pain to yourself.
Any turn based strategy.
When I couldn't use my left hand I played "Trackmania Nations Forever". Great game.
