Elenarie: I'm 21 and proud to say I've played Civ Test of Time for two days without stopping, even lying my parents that I was sleeping during the night. Am I cool?
Okay, there seems to be hope for today's youth yet. :)
Haven't fallen asleep while gaming, but i did fall asleep while doing a design in photoshop.
And once while watching Flabber on the PC (back when i had a dxr2 card... lovely lovely card)

mistermumbles: I've never fallen asleep while gaming. When I feel too tired to concentrate I just drag myself into bed.

Adzeth: I've never fallen asleep while gaming, but I once fell asleep while leaning on a wall. It taught me that you can stay upright even when asleep.

mistermumbles: I think I can one-up that. Try sleep-marching. A good few years ago when I was in boot camp must have been the most sleep-deprived time of my life, so eventually I started nodding off while we were marching in formation to and fro. I'd just close my eyes for a second and next thing I know we'd be in a completely different part of the base. What was even more surprising is that noone else caught on that I was doing it, and it happened more than just a few times.
I did that once, also in boot camp. It was during a parade, one that I was marching in. It was some sort of high level change of command ceremony so half the base had to march in it. I remember standing in formation in the waiting area while every other brigade did its bit first, then I woke up standing at attention and saluting while the last few notes of the National Anthem were playing and we were all assembled on the field. In my defense it was Missouri in July, like 101 degrees at 101% humidity and I only got 8 hours of sleep that week.

I have gotten tired while gaming but I drag myself away before actually falling asleep. Though I did once nod off while modding. I had a bug in one of my scripts and I was really wanting to fix it, test it and upload it before going to bed. Unfortunately the bug was not the obvious typo I was hoping for and I wound up going line by line until my eyes began cross from staring at the screen. It was getting late but I told myself that if I just rubbed my eyes and took a few deep breaths I would be rejuvenated enough to keep going. So I did. And I wasn't. I woke up and it was about 45 minutes later. I decided to just save my work and go to bed, but my script had changed a bit. When I tell people that I can write code in my sleep... it's true! It's just not very good code. Now I would have expected some sort of gibberish like:

Fgfgffghjgkh ljlklklkljhgrt
ghjkhgufjgh fesw nji

But what I got was actual words! Taken as a whole it was incoherent gibberish however:

If blue fish == monkey mother
then set dishes on end +1 blanket (bagel]

I'm so glad that I saw that before hitting Save.

csmith: Last night I actually fell asleep while playing a video game for the first time in 20 years of the hobby. I enjoy the game (3D Dot Game Heroes) and have really good reasons for being tired. However, this hasn't happened before and it left me a little sad.

Assuming it's atypical for you to have this happen, have you ever fallen asleep while gaming? Did you blame the game?
I used to fall asleep while raiding in WOW a lot. Those first couple of Nef kills went really late...
I once almost fell asleep while trying to sing on one of my several singing games. I barely kept my eyes open to turn off the machine. then I went on my computer and stayed up for about 3 more hours... other then that, I've never had it happen.
Ah, at least I am not alone! Exhaustion actually just came over me (10:45pm) even though I typically stay up much later. It sounds like I should just stick with PC gaming as I sit on a stool instead of a recliner and have much less likelihood of falling asleep. :)
Loads of times in single player console games, usually RPGs in which I'm powerleveling or doing something monotonous (looking at you Disgaea.)

Nothing has sent me to sleep easier than watching darts be played though. My brother is a semi-professional darts player and when I was younger I had to go watch his games in lakeside etc. I don't think I ever lasted longer than 10-20 minutes regardless of how noisy the place was.

SapienChavez: sticky white stuff! (for all you ATLUS fans)

Gazoinks: That was a Demon's Souls reference, right? Not some kind of weird innuendo outburst?

On topic, no I've never fallen asleep while gaming as I usually pace myself enough to not game till 5 am or some such.
yes, demons souls... but its also in 3D Dot Hero. so, its an ATLUS thing :)
I've fallen asleep during the Silent Hill games, but I was never playing them and I've never fallen asleep while playing a game.
Weird moment for me falling asleep while gaming is every time I play the Halo 3 campaign completely I always accidently fall asleep every time I see that scene when Sgt. Johnson dies in the Chief's arms saying,"Send me out.......with a bang."

I know weirdest moment of me falling asleep while gaming

Huh, that's funny, since Atlus only published Demon's Souls (it was made by the bizarrely-named From Software). Did From also make 3D Dot Game Hero, or did Atlus just decide they needed a running joke?

i *think* ATLUS handled the localization for both games. i could be wrong. wonder if the parent companies know/care?
Fall over forward zonked and slobbering so that my face hits the analogue game
pad on my computer desk and completes the level with my forehead.
