5 years is a long, long time in the Internet. Let's go down the memory lane!

The beginning of a new year is a good time to stop for a moment and take look back on your past. You take note of your accomplishments, try to learn from your mistakes, and you get all nostalgic about the days gone by. You know we're big on nostalgia, right? With 5 very successful years in the digital gaming market, we thought we'd chat about the company's history a little. We invite you to join CD Projekt's Marcin Iwiński, Guillaume Rambourg, our Managing Director, and Piotr Karwowski, our Creative Director (both of them core members of the GOG.com team who were with us for years), as they talk about the company's history, the concept behind it, and the best (and one not very good) ideas in our history.

Thanks for being with us, dear users, and for making GOG.com the awesome place that it is! Tell us, please--what is your favorite moment in GOG.com history?

Or maybe you would like to become a part of it? Check out our GOG.com/Work page--we may happen to have an opening for a position you'd be perfect for.

My favourite moment?

Not having to deal with Dosbox. Which is probably a great program once you know what you're doing but I've never had a great understanding of computers or EMS and XMS and all other manner of memory or boot configs or whatever else.

GOG doesn't only provide a service that sells games, but it also provides a service that sets up these older games in an accessible way for the audiences which may not have played them the first time around or are too young to have known them and for me that's invaluable.

Now if you would just add Heavy Gear 1 and 2 :)
And maybe Renegade Legion Battle for Jacob's Star. Three games I own but for which I can't be bothered to mess around with dosbox to get working.
Congrats !! 5 Years already... GREAT !! Many More To Come !!
Thank you for GOG !!
Keep It Up !! Cheers
I just recently signed up, but i think the work you guys do is awesome, and i also dont like DRM.
I saw a article way back in an old belgium PC Gameplay about GOG.
Thats a long while ago, and now that i saw the new paysafe option, i created an account right away a bought some of my favorite old games which i bought retail (cdrom/floppys) way back when the came out, but 99% of those games dont work on newer machines.

So its good that GOG is here to let's us play those games again on our new computers.
Yup, i am an oldy, even worked a few weeks with lotus 123 (prehistoric program) so i am quite ancient :D

Keep up the good work GOG

Thread Necromancy! :-)

You are awary that you are posting to an almost one year old thread? GOG is currently celebrating it's 6th birthday with special offers every day for 6 days. That's a good opportunity to start building a big games library here.

BTW, welcome to GOG.

Thanks for the welcome...
yes i am kinda aware of the old post, but i will take care next time to reply and make sure i won't post in a old topic.
My favourite moment on GOG.com is when I realized how easy those InnoSetup installers are to use on GNU/Linux.
Since Humble Bundle turned into some kind of Steam reseller, GOG.com is my one and only place for dematerialized games.

Came here for a free game (Duke Nukem 3D), bought roughly a hundred since then…
Now I need to take a break from buying, to have some time to actually play all those games!
