I personally am a very big fan of the Elder Scrolls soundtracks (yes even Oblivion ... even though I wasn't a fan of the game). Bioware seems to pay a lot of attention to good music as well. While I actually have never (much to my shame. Please don't revoke my geek card.) played any of the NWN/ BG1&2/ Planescape set but it's not for not wanting to. Seeing gog include soundtracks with those made me a bit giddy inside, and I suppose later this holiday season when I've a bit more time I'll indulge.
The fun thing about gog soundtracks is if a game goes on sale and I buy it knowing that I won't be able to play it for a while, the game itself doesn't just sit around gathering metaphorical dust. Instead I can put the soundtracks on heavy rotation and enjoy them until I have time to actually play the games themselves. My money has more than earned itself back *before* I even launch the game itself :D

For me my favorite game score is Arcanum's. Simply beautiful. Mournful, melodic violin sawing away towards ambient perfection. It's definitely one of the most professional video game scores out there. Ben Houge composed it and enlisted a string quartet. He's done quite a bit of scoring in his career, both for other games and choral, chamber, and video productions.

To the guy who got a bonus CD soundtrack with his Best Buy purchase of Vampire: Bloodlines? I'm envious; I had no idea. To think I got mine from Software Etc. back in the day with no such goodies. Forshame.
Thanks for the link btw. I too was a little surprised Arcanum didn't come with a soundtrack. It is indeed very beautiful and a lovely aspect of the gameplay. I will say that Mr. Houge needs someone to redesign his website lol, but the content on it is quite interesting.
