It’s a holiday tradition! Since we’ve been decorating our offices and homes with holiday ornaments, we think it’s only fitting that we decorate the site as well. So if you hunt around, you’ll find that we’ve decorated some of our game screenshots with holiday cheer, [url=http://www.gog.com/upload/forum/2010/12/53c8f200c8a252d686a6e8aa93672fbcee00b5ce.jpg]here (and below) is an example. By itself, that’s merry, but we like to give our users games here at GOG, so we’re running a contest with these screens. For the next four days (from now until Friday, that is) we will replace 1 screenshot on 5 different gamercards with an edited screenshot full of holiday cheer.

lukaszthegreat: this game was so much easier a year ago with small number of games :D
Yes, but the prize was smaller as well ;)

lukaszthegreat: true

question:

you replaced five screens already?
you will replace one each day (so only one screen will be changed at a single time) for next five days?
Nic-V already replied you, but I'll just confirm :) We're changing 5 screens each day and while we change them we take down the previous ones, so there are always 5 edited screens on GOG.

Catshade: Dammit, haven't found anything yet. Can you spot the alteration through the thumbnails (like the example shown), or you need to pixel-hunt?
The thumbnails automatically update when we edit the screenshots, so the thumbnails will show a change.

That said, some of the changes are more subtle than others, so looking at the thumbnails might not be as rewarding.

Finally, do recall that many of our gamercards have more than 6 screenshots. You'll frequently need to click on the left / right arrows under the 3 x 2 matrix of screenshot thumbnails if you want to be sure that you are seeing all of the thumbnails.

Nic-V: Either you are trolling or you were extremely fast XD Congratulations either way xD

Thiev: Probably just got lucky. There're still three days to go.

Does anyone remember how it was last time? - In our answers do we need to point out the specific game or the bundle name (as in the gamecard) would be enough ?
Whichever's more convenient for you. Easiest for us, probably, would be a collection of links to the gamercards you spotted the edited screenshots on, but if there's some other way that you have already started keeping notes with, don't feel the need to change everything on our account.

allukka: After A LOT of searching I've only managed to find two altered screenshots. As good as the prizes are, this is just too tedious and time-consuming to do four days in a row. I'm passing this up, but best of luck for those who decide to enter.
Just as a reminder: if you don't feel up to getting all 20 screenshots, if you can manage to find 5, you can enter for a chance to win a free game.

SWorD84: Found six (6). Which one is not edited? o_O
Well, if you're counting the sample here from Another World, that may be why you have six. You shouldn't count that one, though. The five that we edited should all come from their respective gamercards.

Nic-V: If you have the one from Still Life, if memory serves me right that one was in the actual game.
If we would change this one it would look more like this! ;D

Nope, we didn't change screenshots in Still Life :)

(and a small hint- today are the hardest ones, so it's worth to try, really )

fler: found 4 so far, pretty tough to spot. I don't mind, really (adds to the challenge), however it would be nice if you wouldn't alter the same games again in the remaining days so we can loose a bit less time :)
I'll go ahead and state that yes, there will be no duplication of games over the course of this whole contest.

Nordwolf: Sent the mail three times now. Never got a confirmation. Tried it with links and without. And I already checked my spam folder. I have absolutely no idea, what happened.

It would be great, if the GOG staff could check if my mail reached them.
I don't have access to the contest mail on the weekends, Nordwolf, but I'll make sure that if we haven't gotten your email we'll contact you directly on Monday morning.

Rodzaju: I have a horrible suspicion that the winers anouncement WILL be the big surprise.... :(
It's not the big surprise. Don't worry. :D

taczillabr: And on topic, when the results of this contest will be announced? Man, I've spent so many hours doing this, never before been so anxious about a GOG contest like I am with this one.
I believe we're going to announce those today. I'll let you know if not.
avatar
bazilisek: After looking at this thread, I remembered I didn't get my confirmation e-mail. Should I worry about that?
Send a follow-up email to users@gog dot com and let us know approximately when you submitted your email. If we don't have it, we'll be sure to follow up with you.

bazilisek: I'll do that, thanks.
We have, indeed, received it.

yettenet: Any updates on that?
We're working late, prepping for tomorrow's excitement, but we'll get the winners uploaded in the next hour or so.
