Krankor: the people that frequent these forums are top notch too!

EndlessKnight: They actually talk to you, most are quite pleasant, and when you need some technical support, they give highly useful advice pertinent to the case, instead of that broken record "delete clientregistry.blob" stuff. ;)
Tbh, that thing seems to fix most of Steam's issues. :D

MyKeyG: Round of applause and standing ovaision to GOG from a new user. Purchased Simon the sorcerer 2 and Comandos: beyond enemy lines for 4 EURO EACH. I owned them already but it was worth a bit of cash to buy them Windows 7 ready instead of tracking down patches and all that rubbish. Once again well done GOG.
Welcome, be sure to check back every Friday for weekend promo deals. I own a lot of GOG games on disc too, but you're right, a few bucks to get compatibility out of the gate is worth it.

Wow, sensational is not how I'd describe any MS OS product (though Win 2000 Pro was actually pretty good). MS does have good products (XBox 360, Live, SQL Server, and I'll get flamed for this: Zune Pass), their OSes seem sub par when you start to play with the other alternatives out there.

Well, consider it does / has everything I want, I'll say for me its the best OS there is. ;) I also have a few Linux distros installed, none is as good as 7.

EDIT: for me at least, everybody has a different opinion. :)

Would you consider yourself an end-user/home-user/gamer? I develop software so I have a colored perception on this kind of thing at times.
Welcome, and may you enjoy the greatness of GOG for a long time!

Hey, what about Delixe? He's from Ireland, too...

A mix of everything I guess... I'm currently learning C# and .Net, and doing some music production in FL Studio and Ableton when I have the time, and play mostly Blizzard, Valve, and indie games. For me, Win 7 is perfect for the things mentioned, so... :)

Of course, it also depends on what kind of work you do. :)

And we're kind of going off topic here. :D

When we are talking about retrocompatibility microsoft OS are crap, and they don´t help people who would do the work for free.

Love! Love! Love!
Love what GOG is trying to do, hate that there are technical problems ..like the bug infested Downloader and it's habit of suddenly refusing to work...that GOG seems unable to solve.
Necroed this didn't we?
