Wishbone: Why settle for that? An actual version history with the changes to each version specified would be much better. If it's a game of a couple of GB, and the only change made is "Fixed an issue with NVidia 8800 GTS cards" and you happen to have an ATi card, then there's no need to redownload the game.

Barefoot_Monkey: 100%. It would make a huge difference if each game had a page (say http://www.gog.com/en/changelog/) which lists every version released from a certain point, containing the version number, release date, checksum, and a short summary of the changes.
I vote for the suggestion by "Barefoot_Monkey".

I also agree, and it would be good if there were some kind of warning when entering GOG and any of your purchased games have been updated.

So in my giant list of suggestions, in addition to asking for updates via e-mail, main page flags, etc ... I also added having an updater to GOG's downloader that could check for updates to games and install the updates across multiple installs of the game and keep track of versioning for each install that user wants it to. This way you can even juggle multiple installs of a game with different updates (in case an update interferes with a mod or something you've done) in addition to being informed of updates when they occur.

korell: Yep, I'm in agreement with this too. I have a limit to my net usage (10GB per month) so I sometimes have to plan large downloads. As such, knowing which games have been changed, by showing their version numbers, would be very helpful.

xyem: If we can figure out a way of confirming what games you have purchased, I could always send you them on a DVD to save you some bandwidth. Or if you live close-ish, I could bring them around on a portable drive (where you can show me your account first hand to confirm).

However, all of my GOG games are currently downloaded and backed up at present so I'm good.

I know there is a website (saw the link on these forums) which lists the version numbers of the installers. And I checked my copies against it. From it I found that there is a newer version release of Stronghold (which I'll download later this month I reckon) and a newer version of Painkiller (my first GOG purchase but I've still not even installed it!). The Painkiller download is the big one that I'm leaving for now. I have an old version of it already downloaded but I'll probably look to get the new one before I play it.

Just seen the new release here on GOG today, too, and I will be getting that. But at under 300MB that is not a problem at all.

Yeah, that was probably my site :P It's not online at the moment because I reimaged the server and haven't gotten everything back up yet.
