Hi there
As the good old games are not very graphics intensive, nothing wrong with that, that makes them ideal for use on a laptop. However I have noticed that Dosbox tend to ocuppy 100% of a core, and in a laptop such behavior means more heat and less battery life. So any ideas or suggestions to make it less resource intensive

No. You see, that's how dos was made. Dos always uses 100% of the core even at idle since it doesn't actually idle. It's using the processor to constantly check for user input.

Actually, according to DOSBox wiki you can throttle the program's CPU usage. Just lower the number of cycles.

DOSBox running at 3000 cycles (which I believe is the default) is only showing about 34% of both of the cores in my laptop, and that's with a bunch of other programs running.
If your cores are running at 100% perhaps you have the cycles set too high or are running too many other programs.

I find Game Booster from IOBit essential on my laptop.

http://www.iobit.com/gamebooster.html
so its seem that for each game I 'll nedd to fiddle with the config files of dos box to find the perfect balance between preformance and resources.
in an entirely different topic do we have a suggestion box
