Movies based on games tends to get less than favorable reviews, due to their suckiness. They often ends up as bloated mainstream productions with no love for the source material.
The one exception I can come up with is FUTURE COPS (1993). When I started seeing it, I had no idea that it was 'inspired' by a popular game. Halfway through, I suddenly realized that a lot of the character looked exactly like those in Street Fighter II. Or at least, they looked enough like them to give the impression that the movie intended them to look like them. It might not be a masterpiece, but I found this crazy-ass chinese action-comedy highly enjoyable!

I still think gog must bring game-related movies such as The Computer of Death, the greek masterpiece that inspired The Matrix.
Oh, a weird movies wishlist thread thing, I must recommend some animated adaptations by Dingo Pictures, they have been sold as videogames at some point so they'd fit here

Review of Lion and the King *Warning, movie features abysmal voice acting*
