Hey guys, i am collecting good jazz songs for my new jazz playlist in spotify. So i would like you to help me discover new good songs. Please check that the song you are recommending can be found in spotify.

i would like to start with this song:

The Five Corners Quintet – Trading Eights

Pat Metheny's "Bright Size Life" is an amazing jazz song (and album). I didn't check if it was on spotify because I don't feel like downloading any more bullshit than I already have. Also anything by the group Weather Report. Jaco Pastorius for the win.
Gotta love those regional restrictions :\...

Unfortunately you won't find a lot of the good jazz tracks on Spotify.
You can listen to a nice jazz mix here (no regional restriction :D ).

Some tracks from it are:
Grant Green - Hurt So Bad
Horace Silver - Song For My Father
The Dave Brubek Quartet - Take Five
Chico Hamilton - Simple Timeless
Soel - Shining Pains
Bobbi Humphrey - Harlem River Drive

Couldn't find the rest unfortunately.

Niiiiiice, I'm chilling to this mix as we speak. Thanks for the link up ;)
I can't access Spotify, so I'll just blindly suggest things.

1. Mingus. That's all I can say, a 20th century compositional genius.

2. Charles Lloyd

3. 60's Wayne Shorter.

4. Tomasz Stanko.
I also cant get on Spotify :)

But, some awesome Jazz

Miles Davis,
Herbie Hancock,
John Coltrane,
Thelonious Monk,

I could name more but at the moment have my classical collection playing :)
Thank you for sharing those artist, but i would like to know some song titles from them, please.

AndrewC: Dave Brubek Quartet - Take Five
YEES! one of my mates showed me Dave Brubek Quartet last week, they had the most deliciously mellow sound, and the drummer had fantastic drum rolls in the breaks. Actually it might even have been "take Five" he showed me.

anyway Uulav, you've got to have "Waltz for Debby" with Bill Evans!
I'm using the radio feature of last.fm
Stan Getz- Misty
John Coltrain and Stan Getz - Hackensack (My personal favorite, I've tried to learn this on my tenor sax for the past few months.)
