phaolo: These kind of threads are getting boring..

snowkatt: the derailments ?
or the entitled whining in the initial post that really go on about nothing ?
I'm sorry but all the derailments I've seen are pretty lame (and there have been a *ton* of them recently), neither entertaining, nor productive. IMHO, it's generally best to let these threads die rather than keep bumping them to the top of the forums, but I guess that's just me (though I guess I'm just as guilty by bumping this one to the top again... oh well)

maybe
maybe not
but sometimes a worthwhile convo comes out of a derailment
i have had quite a few good convo's coming out of a derailment

it all depends on the eye of the beholder

but i am sure that we can agree on the fact that gog is anything but boring

insane maybe but not boring

Maybe some good conversations can come, but they're coming where no one else can find them, in threads with completely inaccurate titles. If a conversation is worthwhile, it deserves a proper thread of its own, not buried under a ton of trolling. Just MHO...

some conversatiosn get ignored when they have aproper title
or they just happen spontaniously like in this one

i had a ghosbusters thread but we only marginally went in on the liscencing issues and who holds the rights currently

but like i said eye of the beholder

i like the freeform free wheeling near anarchistic attitude of this forum

tfishell: Hopefully you aren't getting too "assaulted" for your opinion.

Keep these things in mind:

- GOG has to make deals with publishers and make sure games run on their test machines. They don't have a deal with Microsoft which I assume is why Myths aren't here; plus either title may be a hassle to run on modern machines.
They'd undoubtably have to work something out with Project Magma, the fan group who put together the Myth TFL 1.5 and Myth II 1.8.0 patches. IIRC, they were able to get permission to have access to the source code, which allowed them to create semi-official patches to get both games working on modern OSs.

77M: . . . i wish there would be coming more those late 90s and early 2000s gems like drakan the order of the flame or myth 1&2 and so on..
Drakan: Order of the Flame would be an insta-buy for me. Still have it on CD, but would buy it anyway.

There is no PS2 version, but there is a PS2 sequel.

Yup, a sequel.

Rights-wise, every game developed by Surreal Software seems to be in the hands of Warner Bros. Weird how they haven't bothered releasing them even on Steam.

damn ....

that is news to me i always thought it was a port

WB is probably too busy churning out lego games and batman games
and mortal kombat
they are the publisher of the lego games

to care about an ancient title like drakan
