As our catalog gets bigger and better every week, it’s easy to lose track of some of the awesome games that we have to offer. Of course Fallout, Baldur’s Gate, and some other of our most popular titles will always get a lot of attention, but GOG has many more classics to bring you. To help encourage you to explore the dustier reaches of GOG’s catalog, we’re going to be offering a promo on the first and third Wednesday of every month. Think of it as a curated promo on some of GOG’s favorite titles that you may not have played. Whether we’re encouraging you to explore incredible new worlds or inviting you to see how a titanic series got its start, we think every game we’re going to be offering on our GOG Gem Promos will be an excellent title, and we hope you give them all a try.

It's this time of the month when we're giving you an even better deal than usually on one, hand-picked by us hidden gem from the great catalogue of GOGs. This time we're offering you Still Life with a whooping 60% discount! Today's featured game is a point-and-click adventure revolving around a serial murder case. It's combining a great story, impressive cinematics, detailed graphics and an interesting mystery which you have to solve. The two things that make this game even more interesting are: putting emphasis on art (the still life technique in particular) and switching back and forth in time between two main characters. You have to know that in Still Life you work as FBI special agent Victoria McPherson on a serial murder case in Chicago in 2004 as well as you control her grandfather, private investigator Gustav McPherson and try to solve a similar case, but in 1920s Prague. So if you're up for some actual investigative work, now it's the best time to get Still Life for only $3.99!

Don't wait as the promo ends tomorrow, September 8 at 5:59 a.m. EDT (9:59 a.m. GMT).

Skunk: Hey, GOG. As long as you're putting the spotlight on this game, I'd advise you putting your attention towards the eight reviews. There are only eight of them for you to sift through before you come across the review titled "fdasfds", a spam message that only 2 of 76 people have found helpful.

It's twenty-two days away from enjoying it's one-year anniversary in your review section. I'm sure there's a drug-addled meth-head wandering around outside your offices who would love to take care of easy-to-spot and heavily low-rated spam reviews and posts in exchange for a few coins for his next fix.

Seriously. How has that review been there for nearly a year? Your vigilance in fighting spam is a far cry from ideal. Hopefully things will be sorted out by the weekend, or by the next fortnight.
"Skunk" ! , as always 20% cooler!

Yeah ! , "KneeTheCap" is cool also !!! (and a nice guy) - Though "Skunk" is always 20% cooler! ;-D

Since we have had this discussion here on GOG.com about rounded numbers then I think I'll do some (+side) clicks on some of your posts so that it is not a round number any more ;-D
Done ! :-D

My number is a nice, round...erm...209? How the heck did I get 209? Last time I checked, it was like 13....

And I already have Still Life from GOG. Yay! I should probably see about picking up the others in the series, but I hate buying games like this from non-GOG websites. (

KneeTheCap: Still Life is a 2005 computer adventure game by Microïds. While not sharing its name, Still Life is a sequel to Post Mortem. A sequel, Still Life 2, was released in 2009. The game (released in 05, not to be forgotten) has since sold 240,000 copies worldwide.

A major theme (x-filesque?) throughout the game is art, especially the technique of still life that the game is named after. The game also uses a storytelling device of switching back and forth between two player characters.

As said, the sequel was released in 2009.

Enjoy the game :)
Hehehehe, classy post is classy! :D

I think phoenetically its "Hey gog, how about a script blocking that URL from being posted?"

Hey, this time all the spam was deleted within a few minutes. Maybe GOG have actually done something about it and written a script or something.

jorlin: Great atmospheric game, but one next to impossibly hard slider puzzle just before the final phase of the game/

grviper: Is this also the one with the encrypted recipe puzzle?
Well, not encrypted, I'd say the recipe was more or less cryptic or vague, but not encrypted.
