Just to clarify, I'm not hating on the music, it's not bad at all. I said I was no Metal fan but I didn't mean to say that I can't appreciate good Metal. It's just that it doesn't work that well for me in this context, it kind of kills the creepy atmosphere. I would prefer something really scary and dramatic, like an original movie soundtrack. Luckily I discovered it's easy to replace the battle music with your own mp3's. So I could have my own dramatic battle music when playing the game and casually listen to the Eastern European heavy metal music when I'm doing something else. And you could replace the garbage techno in the expansion with some good Metal. ;)

Anyway, on the first playthrough I might still go with the original soundtrack, just to see what it's like. But it's good to know I can change it whenever I want to.

For the cheapos that missed the promo you can secure the hardcopy for DIRT CHEAP. I don't know why it's so cheap; it's a fantastic game. A work of art.

Surprised that so many people already had PK.

What surprises me the most is that Painkiller was one of the last great fast paced shooter games released in the market.

I mean seriously, it has been something like 6 years, and we have not seen a really good fast paced shooter released yet, apart Serious Sam 2 and Necrovision. The market is full is tactical shooters, i am so sick of it. Bulletstorm is not a fast paced shooter - it is only a pretender. And shame to iD and Raven - they have not reached the quality in releasing good games since Quake 2.

Yes, I've owned this one since it was first released here on GOG and it is a great deal of fun. Everytime I want a quick dose of action and mayhem, I fire this one up. It's also one of the first games I use to test a new laptop. Plays on most anything and looks fairly good on all.

If you don't have it, this one is a no brainer.
