I'm a little disappointed that i already own it but I'll get over it.

If you are still on the fence, take it from me you will have a blast with this game so I say pick it up.

I've noticed that Sierra and Black Isle Studios/Atari games seem to be mostly excluded from the Weekend and GOG Gem promos (only being slightly on sale during the Christmas sale). I just have to ask: Is this a GOG or publisher decision?

Epic. Good things happen to those who wait!

I'd always wanted to get this. Got the demo off Steam a few days ago and while it wasn't as great as everyone's made it out to be, it was, after all, a demo. I also suspect my rusty deathmatch skills need polishing 'cos this game is tough.

GOG is all knowing. GOG is loving. Just what I needed: a Painkiller for the humdrum of boring Call of Duty clones and cover based shooters with chest high walls.

I think I've figured out the marketing ploy, gog do a sale on a $10 game which hopefully shoots it to the top of the best sellers. As the original price comes back those new to the site will immediately see the bestseller list and make a purchase, buying products that are probably more profitable to the company. Notice that all bestsellers except for one are $10.

On the other hand it could be a ploy to get around stingy publishers price settings and provide cheap games to the masses.

Btw, I was serious when I asked if you can turn off the music in Painkiller (while keeping the sounds turned on). Surely someone here would know?
I love the Eastern European heavy metal music in Painkiller (not the techno garbage that was in its expansion, though). No way am I turning off the music when I fire up that game!

It's a really, really nice single player shooter.
I would've loved some co-op in there though.
But if you love some old school Doom and Serious Sam-like shooting, you can't go wrong with this game. As a single player experience it's better than Serious IMO.
I didn't even notice the music and I mean that as a compliment, I don't really like metal but the soundtrack for this game just works and fits like a glove.

It's a lot closer to Serious Sam than to Doom (most of the time you're locked into an area until you kill all monsters, at which points doors open into the next area) but with much more impressive level design.
