Ride the big one! 60% off!

RollerCoaster Tycoon 3: Platinum!, a complex, deep, and fun theme park sim, is ready to take you on a crazy ride of your own creation--and it’s discounted by 60% on GOG.com for the next 24 hours!

Up. Up. Up. Up. Up. Up. Up. Up. Up. Up. Up. Up. Up. Up... Up... Down! Down! Down! Left! Down! Left! Right! Down! Down! Up! Left! Left! Right! Up! Down! Up! Down! Up! Right! Right! Right! Down! Down! Down! Up! Up! Up! Down! Down! Down! Left! Right! Left! Right! Up! Down! Down! Left! Down! Down! Down. Down. Left. Down. Down. Down... Thank you, folks! We hope you enjoyed our Mountain of Madness ride. That'll be twenty bucks. What's that? Your wallets fell out of your pockets when you went through the loopty loop? Joe! Remind me to start charging people BEFORE the ride. Oh, and when you have a moment to spare--clean the pool under the loopty loop.

RollerCoaster Tycoon 3: Platinum! is most probably the best that theme park simulation games have to offer. Not only can you design the ride of your dreams--or nightmares--but you can also build the greatest amusement park ever with surprising side-shows, festive food stands, and other amazing attractions you visitors won't ever forget. The game offers great depth of simulation that is sure to satisfy the engineer/designer/businessman inside you, but if you grow weary of managing your little factory of fun, you can always spoil your inner child as well and join your guests on the ride you cooked up for them (in first person perspective)! The Platinum! edition contains RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 and both its expansion packs: Soaked! and Wild! for even more ways to design a unique experience for your virtual visitors.

Please keep your hands and arms inside the ride at all times while you ride the big one in RollerCoaster Tycoon 3: Platinum! for only $7.99 until Thursday, August 23 at 10:59 AM GMT.
Good for the folks who haven't gotten it yet. In some ways I like it more, in some ways less than the first two RCTs, but, at the end of the day, it's still a fantastic game. I don't regret paying the full $20 for it when it was first released on GOG.

clawhook: Can anyone comment on how much value the expansion packs (Soaked and Wild) add to the game?
Both expansions add quite a lot of content and together they about double the amount of scenarios available. Many new rides and especially Soaked's water-park theme really does change things up quite a lot... if you so choose.
The only one I don't have from the series, very tempting at this price. It wouldn't be any better at Christmas either...hmmm...will have a tinky winky with this one.

EDIT: bought!

Insta-buy! (at this price :))
Too late, I bought it from Amazon for $5 a while ago. Decent promo though.

DukeNukemForever: Will need to check that, kind of interested in the genre but not really a friend of 3D for manager simulations (prefer more the old isometric view). Unfortunately the review function on the gamepage was misused as a comment section and isn't helpful. Also there is some review only linking to another website to buy it there.
Really? Didn't the following review help your decision:

Well done GOG! After a long time you eventually managed to take my money, again...
How good is this compared to Theme Park World?

I've thoroughly enjoyed TPW in the past, but I'm not sure whether I'd bother returning to it if given a choice these days. Though I might be tempted to pick it up again if GOG ever decides to release the Theme Park games.

RCT3 (especially with its expansions) has a lot more variety and choice than TPW. Not sure whether I'd call RCT3's gameplay more complex. It's different, but also a little more detailed. My memory of TPW is somewhat hazy. It's been some years since I've last played it.
I think this is the opportunity that a lot of people have been waiting for.
