I was having a pizza in my underwear this morning and... oh wait, you didn't need to know that.

I came up with an idea this morning while doing stuff. Much like airlines have those fancy frequent flyer programs, I was wondering if it would be nice to have a sort of frequent buyer program on GOG. It doesn't have to be anything fancy, maybe some custom avatars or exclusive wallpapers or a nice little medal next to your avatar on the forums when you own 100 games or more. Or, alternatively, you would have a chance to purchase some games prior to their release if you've bought enough games new on GOG (like 10 games within a week of their release) or some other kind of pre-purchase mechanic for those who use all their hard-earned money on GOG and then don't eat for a week (c'est moi).

I'd love to hear your thoughts on this, and possibly the opinion of GOG staff, if they're reading this :)
Are you addicted to buying on GOG yet? No? Here's something to seal the deal. [hands you your doom card, also known as "GOG will bitch-slap your wallet" frequent buyer card]
well it would give something to loyal buyers and who miss out on the free games cause everytime they already have them.
Was the pizza fresh, cold or reheated? We need to know!
Only if the bonus is something like gamersgate's blue coins system. Otherwise I don't care, I'm not interested in gimmicks like avatars, wallpapers or medals.

I think the best thing you can do currently, is, if you have a website, toss up some ads for GOG through their promotional program.
Via their promotional program you can get news well before the actual customers get it, discounts on games, and free stuff depending on how many people click through your links on your site to sign up.

Or at least, that's what it was like two or three years ago when I attempted to sign up, but was stymied because I didn't want to send an international fax.

Made it myself for breakfast, or more like lunch, since I woke up at 1pm with a weird hangover where I just seemed to crave food like crazy. Half a packet of bacon and 3 kinds of cheeses (to name just a few toppings) made it into my pizza of DOOM
GOG already has sales every week, sometimes with games I want to purchase, other times without. Regardless, I don't need anymore incentive to purchase games on here, the frequent sales do enough for me. So to answer your proposal, for me personally I have no interest in a frequent buyer/loyalty program for GOG.
I think I would just confuse them :) - "You bought how many copies of Sacrifice?"

But they did have the buy 2 at once thing and get 10% off, and they give away the odd game. More importantly, their prices are so cheap that I think they would be cutting their own throats to give us any more.

EDIT: btw, take it from someone who's experienced a few hangovers. The pizza may seem like a good idea, but it only delays the inevitable.

I hope you didn't get sauce all over the place...

I don't know; I think their prices are low enough that to ask more of them is, well, asking a lot.

You could always start a "I own this many games" thread. :-)

For every purchase you make (such as going down to the supermarket to grab a pack of coke), the price of a random GOG you don't yet have is subtracted from the balance as well, and said GOG is placed on your account.
