In July (!) GOG started a creativity contest on GamesCom-marketing (and GOG is definitely in need of good marketing ideas, as we know).

http://www.gog.com/en/forum/general/gog_question_time_question_3/page1

And many fine users from the community took part, 166 post in total full with cool ideas on how to spread the word.

But GOG apparently lost interest in the topic, and so it remains unsolved until this day. Instead, GOG creates new contest every few days, and now even a contest week!

I personally feel insulted by this lack of concern displayed by GOG towards its community.

I wasn't really active around then, but that sucks.
How was GamesCom?
Your link is screwed. But your point is valid. This isn't the only time this has happened recently. So hopefully they'll sort that out.

I just copy/pasted the text in. But I thought fixing it might save confusing others, like it did me.

GOG pretty much dropped off the map before coming out of beta. To be honest, I was more worried about the state they were in then than during the PR stunt. So I don't find it too surprising that a couple of contests were forgotten about.
They probably think that all contest entries stink to high heaven (their hypothetical words, not mine), but don't have the rocks to say it out loud. Besides, they IIRC they didn't get any special PR stunt ready for the GamesCom, so that would make the contest null and void.
Personally I'd like it if they'd focus more on releases and features and less on contests. I'm hoping this contest week is just a "hey all you new people, let's pull you in further" type of exercise. The chances of winning always seem so miserable that I don't usually bother.
