10: Gran Turismo 5 (would have been higher if it wasn't for fucking awful menus & the half finished state its in)
9: The Harvest (Best WinPhone7 game around, even better than fruit ninja)
8: Limbo (Creepy & clever in one)
7: Alan Wake (Much like limbo, creepy & clever but with crazy old metalheads so its more awesome)
6: Alpha Protocol (Another diamond in the rough, very unfairly treated)
5: Mass Effect 2 (Better than #1 in almost every way, top shelf shooter/rpg)
4: Assassin's Creed Brotherhood (astonishingly good considering it was made in a year, feels like a sequel rather than expensive dlc)
3: Fallout New Vegas (Fallout! Fallout New Vegaaaaaaaaaas! Huge, crazy, full of freaks and those are just the good guys)
2: Heavy Rain (amazingly good & creepy game, only game to make me feel tired after stressful sections)
1: Red Dead Redemption (spent more time with this game than anything that wasn't an rpg or GTA4)

seconded Fallout New Vegas
I was gonna say Minecraft, but it's only beta...

I think the only new game I played this year was Alpha Protocol.

Was good though.

The one thing that annoyed me about Heavy Rain is that I expected there to be a way to change the killer in the story, since it seemed to open up several options. After finding out a certain character was the killer and finishing the game once, I did everything I could to kill the guy off, but in every situation he just shrugged it off. I had him shot something like a hundred fucking times, yet he still survived.

The initial experience was nothing short of heartbreaking, emotional manipulation at its finest. Maybe I was asking for too much, but when someone brags about all the endings, I expected more than just variants on "This person dies" or "This person is in jail".

Maybe it has to do with the fact that it was released in 2009. (But yes, I also thought it was very very good).
