uchos: You mentioned "DSiware games and Download Play". Does it work also on normal DS carts?
Yes, by DS game I meant normal games on cards. When I mentioned DSiware and download play I was just saying it works for those as well.

Oh, right, silly me, I missed the "too" inside the brackets :) *selffacepalm

Thank you very much, looks like I can consider the 3DS then.

How it would deal with DS games was something I was anxious to know before I got one too. I was glad to hear they gave us both sane options (aspect ratio scaling and centring) and not the insane option (full screen stretching D;)!

Barefoot_Monkey: Can it play GBA games?

orcishgamer: Yes and no, no it has no GBA slot (the DS Lite was the last handheld that did, making it still Nintendo's best handheld for sale today, imo) and yes, they're perfectly happy to sell you downloadable copies from their online story, that are probably still locked to your hardware and not some kind of account, so you get to re-buy them when your hardware breaks or you upgrade. Gee, thanks Nintendo!
I purchased Cave Story on the DSi XL (or whatever the hell it is called) and was able to transfer it to my 3DS. Not the best since, like you stated, an account (which we have!) to download from would be much easier. I do wonder if they changed it for the 3DS since I have a section in the eShop where I can download all of my purchases.

@SirPrimalform Sorry, I really should have put down shoulder buttons. I was reading a review where someone said bumpers and it stuck. :(

I hope the WiiU uses the same online store so that Nintendo will do something to address this. Otherwise I will just emulate those old games I bought if my Wii breaks. XD
I would love to get a 3DS if I could afford it, especially considering the touch screen on my DS is out of sync and calibrating it does a big bucket of sweet fuck-all. That new Mario game looks epic, not to mention there is definitely going to be at least one Zelda game for the 3DS in the future at some point.

You mean an original Zelda game for the 3DS? Not the Ocarina of Time remake?

Yup. Every Nintendo console apart from the original game boy has at least one. It's just a matter of time.

I believe Link's Awakening was on the Gameboy before it was redone for the Gameboy Color as Link's Awakening DX.

Doh, I always forget DX is a remake...

I only know because I got a used copy of the original. I'd wanted DX, but I just didn't have the money for it. So imagine my surprise when I got home, put the used game in and found that no backgrounds were being drawn. I got to return it and since they had no other copies of the original, I got a brand new copy of DX. In fact, at the same store I preordered Pokemon Gold and got it like, a week early. I miss that store.

That and the fact that it's all but been announced. When asked if there will be a 3D remake of Majora's Mask to go with Ocarina of Time, Eiji Aonuma said he'd like to do it but only after they've done a new one on the 3DS because they don't want to do two remakes in a row.

Also it was mentioned that the 3DS Zelda play more like 3D console Zeldas (i.e. OoT onwards) rather than like older console Zeldas or the weird DS ones. I'm wondering if they're planning on making the new one based on their ported OoT engine, like a really extensive mod.
