Ok, many of you might think that i am total asshole, but i was very disappointed when i heard GoG releasing brand new game. Also they didn't release second game on this week, so all this feels like punch in the face. I am quite sure that i am not alone with this feeling, please share you thoughts on this matter.
I just have to ask. Do you ever stop moaning? Seriously that's all you ever seem to do.

They said themselves that all this will be is a one time special exception

which isnt really surprising, considering that Witcher 2 comes from the same Company that brought us GoG

It will attract more users here, it will give us the game here DRM free and GoG is still about good OLD games

so what is the problem here?

I am sorry if you feel that way, but i think that giving bad/good feedback is important to make you voice heard. When things are good i don't write anything, but when something is wrong i usually tell it straight, this is just my style.
I agree.
I came to this website for Good Old Games, not (potentially mediocre) new ones. ;)

Aaanyway, this is only a one-time special exception for The Witcher 2 (read the pre-order FAQ), it's not like they're going to release more new games in the following weeks. Plus, this cross-promotion helps publicize GOG (and DRM-free philosophy in general) more than TW2, so that's a positive thing in my book.

Problem is that they forgot the old game players. It's not a major problem, but still it bugs me.

Telling people not to vote for Ultima because it's "rubbish" isn't feedback it's borderline trolling. As for The Witcher 2 the site is owned by GOG and this is an opportunity for them to recoup 100% of the revenue for the game rather than a percentage via a publisher and/or another DD. After everything GOG have done you don't want to give them something back?

Oh and just because The Witcher 2 is on GOG it doesn't mean they are not going to maintain the focus of classic games. It's ONE game. Perspective is a wonderful thing.

So, in your opinion, since GOG haven't released an old game four days after releasing Baldur's freaking Gate 2, you assume that they have forgotten the old game players? That's quite a wild assumption there.
Its not a punch in the face, thats clearly overreacting. I believe them, its just a singular event. And anyway, there would have been only one new release this week. I would also like to have more releases or even Witcher 1. But hey, its their decision. And its all quite reasonable.

Forgot? how exactly? By releasing --->ONE<---- new game here on GoG? really?

They released Baldur's Gate 2 this week for pete's sake (lol earthworm jim reference)

I think they are doing a lot of things to keep us happy and working hard

In this case because of launching Witcher 2 pre order on thursday, there might be a change they had to postpone a good old game release. And don't get me wrong these dd releases were huge gift from gog staff to us.
Although I like GOG for its focus on older games, I have no problem with them releasing new titles as well. They already have a few games that are fairly recent - DarkStar One, Two Worlds and King's Bounty aren't much older than a few years.

For a game like The Witcher 2, though, I'd rather get it in a box.
Ok, game is new, but they sell it according to their philosophy – DRM free, lot’s of additional stuff, multilingual, the same price for everyone (directly or via gog.com credit). I can’t see the problem here. Additionally – possibility to purchase W2 via gog.com will certainly add new customers to gog.com.
Oh.. and there is one more important fact we should take into consideration: Witcher 2 is ‘make or break’ for such small company as CD Project. If W2 will not sell well – CDP AND gog.com will have problems. Anything that supports W2 – supports gog.com as well.
Did GOG state anywhere that they will release more than 1 game per week? This reminds me of certain member's bitching about "ZOMG GOG u slackers, no release today? FFFFUUUU".

Also I have nothing against Witcher 2 here, even though maybe I won't buy at all.
