DProject: Man that sounded so twisted :D I immediately got a mental image of a Ren & Stimpy -style SNES platformer with this playing on the background. Nice work, especially considering you put all that together in such a short time.
Did you recognize the song? It super easy to throw something together when you have all your sounds ready and all you have to do is sequence the notes. Twiddling the knobs on synthesizers is usually what eats up my time in production.

Growing up, Mario Paint and the SNES mouse were the closest thing I had to a PC (or C64 even) so, it's fun to go back and put together these songs I could never make back then. I highly recommend checking out the free, fan-made (and improved!) PC version; Mario Paint Composer--since it's unlikely to you'll get your hands on the cart and the mouse. Sadly, unFun Games' site seems to be no more but, you can find a link to download it here.

TIL the first episode of Homestar Runner (Super NES) as well as the short Strong Bad is a Bad Guy were both made in Mario Paint. That's pretty badass.

This is my favorite Mario Paint Composer jam (for the moment)

No, I didn't: at first I thought it was simply a Mario Paint remix judging by the title but then I figured you used Mario Paint sounds instead and that's why it was in the title. I haven't ever played that game so I couldn't tell for sure.

Then I YouTubed Eileen so I see it was this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oSOSAHU2CLY :) I haven't heard that song before.

hahaha you've never heard Come on Eileen? That song is older than me and still it's ubiquity has permeated even my life! D'oh, well I hope you enjoyed it, it's an undeniably fun song that can find a home in almost any mix. It's sound is clearly indicative of the period but, at the same time it's not bogged down in extraneous 80s nuance and still can hold a candle to music today.

What can I say, I guess Dexy's Midnight Runners didn't really ever reach Finland, I'd bet most people of my age here would say they haven't heard of them (or even that one song) :) I'll be honest: I didn't find the original version that intriguing but yours had an interesting take on it, because the Mario Paint sounds added such a twisted feel to it as a whole. Again, like I said: an imminent mental image of a Ren & Stimpy platformer :D

Just please be so nice to choose one entry each or else I'll just take the last one submitted by the person.

You like bongo samples? Here's some bongo samples (well I guess they really aren't samples but genuine bongos, oh well) around the 0:30 mark; it's fine if you don't like the rest of the song, I'm kinda on the fence too myself, but there's no denying that beginning is magnificent ^^
Did someone say Bongos?

I'm a little out of my element here but, I am almost certain the drummer is using a double bass pedal and not bongos. One is a defining metal staple and the other is not. I can't say that I have a particular affinity for bongos (although I do enjoy the more esoteric parts of the percussion family in general) so much as sounds of low fidelity. The pop and crunchiness of those sounds is what I found appealing rather than the instrument itself. I mean nothing is going to trump the lord of percussion, the cowbell! Although, jingle bells do covet that station hungrily.

Really, those are called bongos too? They look cool but, I am dubious of their acoustical qualities.

You're right there's definitely double bass pedal there but I'm pretty sure there are actual bongos in there too :D Just listen to 0:43 and the bara-da-da-da-dam-dam, if those aren't bongos I must be partially deaf!

aha! yeah! Crappy built in speakers, I had to put headphones on but, yeah there they are! They sound like they have some heft and resonance to em, they could be congas or, studio 'magic'.

Either higher compression rate (less picture quality) in the jpg or
www.postimg.org (but I don't know if they claim rights to this stuff then)

Or you can just send me an eMail (I'd give you my address via PM).

Oh, I forgot about this. I did finally do a (digital)painting for the Draw and Guess the Game forum. First painting I've done in over a year. There's some of my old stuff too, just for fun, including the last traditional painting I ever did about 3 years ago.
