snowkatt: no they didnt
all the multiplayer has been ripped out

its a single player game now ( which suits me fine to be honest i dont care about multiplayer )

ReynardFox: I just wish I could pay for the PC version, I have an enormous new PC and I'd love to play it again, legitimately, at 60FPS+ but I won't buy a DRM'd game.
immmnot sure if it is actually 60 fps
it might be capped at 30

dont take my word for it though i cant see the difference between 30 and 60 fps anyway

The PC version can run at 60fps, this I know.

I'd love to know how we have Chronicles of Riddick but not Ghostbusters, we have the dev support...

Oh lovely, so we're screwed because of Sony, my most hated of companies strikes again. There's no way we'll get a DRM free release with them in control.

Though i'm not sure what it means by incomplete on the Xbox, unless they're referring to multiplayer, because the single player was perfect and glitch free in my experience.

I wasn't sure in regards to game licensing who owned the rights, if Atari still had the license then they could potentially decide to publish it here, with it lapsing back to Sony, we're officially out of luck.

atarigrames is bankrupt though
i doubt that even fi they want to publish they couldnt

terminal reality is also gone

so in all likliehood it lapsed and returned back to sony

the steam page makes no mention of who the publisher is though

Yeah that confused me, I went looking on the Steam website for a clue as to who actually owns the rights to the game itself what with everyone involved going arse up.

Also, what's to bet the bad reboot will get a bad movie cash-in game?

RIP Harold Ramis and the entire franchise...

some google fu later most of this is 5 years old by now
http://www.pcworld.com/article/164466/publishing_rights_sticky_for_ghostbusters_the_video_game.html
http://ps3.gamespy.com/playstation-3/ghostbusters/

but it seems that sony picked up the publishing rights for the european versions fo the game at the 11th hour
back in 2009

so there is no reason why the rights wouldnt have revertd back to sony and they now own the publshing rights to the game too

the problem is why would they hide that ?

ghostbusters wiki is also mum on the publsiher state of affairs

It all seems a bit sketchy, I was going to put it down to Sony not wanting to draw attention to something that wasn't on the PlayStation but then why is it on Steam at all? Weird.
